According to a statement signed by spokesperson of She’ll, Bamidele Odugbesan, the development followed the disruption in production caused by the spill on the Forcados Terminal subsea crude export pipeline.
The statement said: “SPDC is intensifying efforts on containment and oil recovery from the February 14, 2016 spill, while also finalising repair plans.”
It will be recalled that a militant group sympathetic to the detained leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, which called itself Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) had blew up the Forcados export terminal as part of the pressure to get the federal government to release Mr Kanu.
The group claimed that the had sympathisers from the North, East and Western parts of the Nigeria.
Mr Kanu is facing charge of Treason before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, slammed on him by the Directorate of Secret Service (DSS) on account of alleged activities of his group which calls for the secession of the old eastern part of Nigeria.
