How Boko Haram Recruits Youths With $3000

Young Nigerians at the border town of Nigeria and Niger Republic, Diffa, have confessed to be recruits of the Islamist militant group, Boko Haram.

A member of a gang in Niger told the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) that Boko Haram Islamist militants from Nigeria “regularly come across the border, looking for recruits.” The gang members, in their 20s, said they were paid $3,085 (about N500,000) to join the insurgency and since they were jobless, they were willing to take the cash, but with no interest in protecting Sharia law.

However, they said they were willing to strike if given the assignment to do so, as they blamed their decision to join the militant group on their joblessness. “They have paid Nigerian naira ($3,085, £1,835) to those of us who followed them over there,” one of the young men said. “When they come, we inform them about what’s going on, what the security forces are up to. “We have no jobs; some of us are still at high school, but we need money.

Violence has become a form of work for us.” These confessions were revealed in a documentary published by the BBC, on Tuesday, after Thomas Fessy, a BBC reporter visited Diffa region in Niger Republic.

BBC made contacts with this local gang, who claimed they collaborated with Boko Haram and agreed. According to BBC documentary, five of these young Nigerians said they had already joined the militant Boko Haram sect, while two other members were killed in operations. In total there are about a dozen gang members in a tiny, dark room, built with local mud-bricks.

When the reporter asked them: “If you are asked to launch an attack here, will you be ready to do that?” Their response: “Yes, we are ready. We have no job, so, we are ready. That is what we are here for.” When the BBC reporter asked if they agreed with Boko Haram’s reason for fighting, they answered in unison:

“No. We only do it for the money.” Arriving one by one to meet the BBC crew earlier on a street corner in Diffa, they all wore skinny jeans, bright coloured T-shirts and shiny chains, like those seen around the necks of American rappers on music videos.
Their attitude and brand new clothes made them stand out when they walked down the dusty streets of Diffa. The fashion style is clearly inspired by Western consumerism rather than Islamist militancy. “We break into houses for cash; sometimes we beat people for money, we steal their animals so we can eat and then we gather up and take Tramol (an opiate drug), smoke ganja (marijuana) and drink alcohol,” one of the gang members said.

Five Male University Students Gang-rape Male Colleague

Five male students of a Nigerian university landed into a big soup when they allegedly gang raped another young boy who nearly bled to death from the injuries he sustained from the assault.

Leadership learnt that one of the students, a 2nd year student whose name was given as Friday Desmond, had been lovers with the raped boy who name was given as George. He had promised to marry George as soon as he graduated from university.

Their illicit love affair had been going on smoothly with both of them meeting regularly at selected places Sometimes you feel you've heard it all and then you're hit you with another one. Continue... On that fateful day, however, Friday took four of his friends to Bwari Area Council where George lived with his parents and lured George to a hotel in the neighbourhood.

LEADERSHIP learnt that the five students took turns to rape George. After the incident George was allowed to go. At home, he discovered that he was bleeding from his anus. He quickly alerted his parents who tried every first aid measure to stop the bleeding to no avail. They quickly rushed George to a nearby medical centre where the health officials put him on intensive care. Every attempt to stop the bleeding failed.

The distraught parents enquired what happened to him and he told them how the five students gang raped him and left him with the injuries. The parents immediately reported the matter in a police station in the area council and the operative swung into action and arrested Friday.

LEADERSHIP learnt that the Police in Bwari later transferred the case to Kubwa where Friday is said to have remained in detention. When LEADERSHIP contacted the FCT police command PRO, Altine Daniel, she said she was not aware of the case. She however demanded for the day the incident occurred so that she could find out from the station where the incident was reported.

Robbers Raid 8 Lagos Streets,Rape,Destroy 30 Cars In 7-Hour Rampage

According to a report by Punch, armed robbers numbering about 60 stormed 8 different streets in the Mushin area of Lagos in the early hours of Monday morning and operated unchallenged for about 7 hours.

The armed men robbed, raped some girls and destroyed several cars during the operation. Full report below... The hoodlums, who reportedly belonged to two cult groups – Akala boys and Toheeb’s gang – ravaged New Balogun, Euba, Ayonuga, Tiamiyu, Haruna, Ereko, Oyedele streets and Coker Lane.

A mosque on Coker Lane was not spared as the worshippers, who slept in the mosque after a vigil, were robbed by the hoodlums.
One of the people in the mosque told Punch that the robbers fired bullets for over one hour before robbing from house-to-house. Continue... He said, “It was around 12am on Monday morning that we started hearing gunshots.

It lasted for about an hour. Around 1am, they started going from house-to-house, robbing the occupants. They stole about seven laptops from the house opposite this mosque. They stole phones, money and everything they saw. They came inside the mosque and took our phones and money.

People were crying throughout the night. It was terrible.” Another witness said the robbers were not in a haste. He said they robbed till 5am and came back at 6am to continue before leaving around 7am. A Punch correspondent observed that a generator was also removed from its shed by the robbers.
Vehicles parked on the streets were vandalised by the robbers, just as two Toyota Hilus van were burnt.

A Punch correspondent counted 20 vehicles, but some residents said about 10 damaged cars had been taken away by their owners for repairs. Kasali Daramola, a driver who spoke while fighting back tears, told our correspondent he owned one of the burnt vehicles. He said, “This is the third time they will do this to me. What have I done to them? The first was a Lexus car my younger brother bought for me, which I was planning to sell to acquire a commercial bus to take care of my four kids and wife. I sold the scrap for N30, 000.
I used the money I raised to get a bus and I was paying for it by installment. I have not finished the payment when they destroyed it.” Daramola said the men entered his house and some of the ladies living there were raped.

He said attempts to bring in the police were abortive as they kept saying they were on their way without showing up. A resident said, “For over five years now this area has not known peace. Will the police say they cannot do anything about it? Around 7am that policemen came here, they still saw some of those robbers around, but did not do anything. Why? I believe the police know all the people causing trouble here and if they want to do something, it doesn’t take them anything.” Tosin Gbolahan, a resident, said a policeman attached to Alakara Police Station was with the hoodlums on Monday morning.

He said the hoodlums took advantage of a carnival that was held the previous night on Ojo Street to perpetrate the havoc. The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Ngozi Braide, said she would call back, but she had yet to do so as of press time.

7 Valid Reasons You Should Not Trust Men Easily

True love is something that all people search for, especially when they are young. It should be mentioned that men and women have different attitude to love. It is a well-known fact that boys love with their eyes and girls love with their ears. That means all the words we hear from our guys are very important to us and we take everything serious. Being trustful, women can easily fall in love and give their heart away to those men who dont deserve their great affection. Thats why I advise you to be reasonable when you start a new relationship. Dont let your feelings and emotions prevail over your mind or finally you will get disappointed and frustrated. Consider the following reasons why you shouldnt give your heart away so easily and you will manage to avoid big mistakes in your life.

1. You Will Get Hurt
Unfortunately very often we can get attached to handsome guys just because of their appearance and as a result our heart may be broken and we stay alone. When you see that a boy doesnt love you sincerely youd better not rush into this relationship as it will never finish happily for you. Lots of women hope that real feelings will come with the time and they will be able to change the situation. But I think there is no need to begin love affair only because you want that and you are tired of being alone. If you meet a nice man and you like him, first of all you should find out if he has all the qualities that attract you in a partner.

2. Men Are Lustful
Its not a secret that men are lustful and we cant do anything with this. Due to this fact you shouldnt trust them so quickly. Surely, I dont want to say that all men are the same, but it is quite natural that most of them at first pay much attention to our face and body and only after that they fall in love with our personality. If you want to build a strong and long lasting relationship physical attraction will not be enough for you. So, you need to wait a bit before you give him your heart and open your soul.

3. Decide What You Really Want
The first thing you should do when looking for a guy is to draw an image of your ideal and perfect man in your mind. It is necessary to know what qualities you expect to see in your boyfriend in order to realize your plans and make your dreams come true. So many girls often change their decision about the kind of man they want to find and such uncertainty generally results in choosing the wrong person. This is one of the greatest reasons you shouldnt fall in love so easily and lose your mind. Make sure you set your goal and figure out which characteristics in a partner are the most valuable for you. If you are lucky to meet the one date for some time and then you can move to something more serious.

4. Maybe You Just Try to Fill a Void
Perhaps youve just broken up with your ex or you suffer from some troubles in your life, in such case your new love will be nothing more but the way to get rid of your sadness and fill the emptiness in your heart. If you dont get enough attention from a man and dont feel his kindness that is a clear sign he is not the one you need. All your feelings to him are deceptive. You dont love this boy. The only reason why you are with him is your desire to get some warmth and care from him.

5. Build a Foundation
First Foundation is one of those things that will help you make your relationship happy and successful. Even to build a good house you need a foundation, so when it comes to love the one is extremely important. All lovers have to go through certain steps before they will become closer to each other. Everything starts from small talks, after you begin to trust your partner and discover numerous common things that both of you have. If you have passed these stages of your relationship successfully now you are ready to give him your heart and become a part of him.

6. You Have Time to Choose Carefully
Certainly you should be careful and picky to make the right choice in your life. Always keep in mind those characteristics you appreciate in men and look for the one who possesses them. Dont waste your time for someone who doesnt satisfy your requirements. If you still dont realize what kind of a partner you want to find, there is a big possibility you will give your heart away to any man just for the sake of love and attention. If you meet a handsome and attractive guy, that is not the reason for you to fall in love with him. His personal qualities matter much more than his lovely face. Anyway you are a young and pretty girl and you will meet so many interesting people in future. Sooner or later you will find your destiny, just live your life and follow your dream.

7. He May Hide Something from You
To our great disappointment the majority of men are insincere and they may hide a lot of things while dating with us. In my opinion this is a convincing reason why we should be picky when choosing the man to spend our life with. Time is a crucial thing that may influence your final decision. Only time will enable you to learn more about your boyfriend and understand if he is the one you are searching for. Accordingly to avoid stress and frustration you shouldnt open your heart to a man before you know all his bad and good sides. ———————————-

13 Things Wives Must Not Do Without Asking their Husbands First

it comes down to common courtesy. He’s not being “controlling;” he’s having an opinion … and as his spouse, you’d want him to respect your opinion, right? So why not respect his? Poor Shakira started a firestorm the other day when she confessed that she had to ask her boyfriend, Gerard Pique, for permission before shooting a sexy music video with Rihanna.
What’s a grown woman doing asking for permission before making decisions about her career? Well … maybe she’s just being a good girlfriend? Hey, someone had to say it! If there is one thing I’ve learned in the 13 1/2 years since my wedding, it’s that marriage is a partnership. And at the risk of being labeled anti-feminist, sometimes that means giving my husband the chance to say “eh, please don’t do that,” before I make a decision.

Take a week ago when I decided — last minute — to once again shave my head to fight children’s cancer. Before I signed up, I first went to my husband and asked, “Do you mind if I shave my head for St.
Baldrick’s again this year?” It’s my hair on the line, but I’ll have to fundraise and show up the day of the event, plus someone needs to keep an eye on our daughter while I’m sitting in a chair having clippers buzzing around my head. He didn’t say, “no,” but if he had, I’d have respected it. Really, it comes down to common courtesy. He’s not being “controlling;” he’s having an opinion … and as his spouse, you’d want him to respect your opinion, right? So why not respect his? Don’t see yourself shaving your head any time soon? You’re not off the hook, hon. If you want to stay on good terms, you might want to keep him in mind and ASK before you do any of the following:

1. Throwing out his ratty old t-shirts.
I have seen many a wife prattle on on Facebook about how she’s finally gotten rid of his stash of awful tees from college. My husband has his own fair share of those holey t-shirts, but I won’t touch them for one simple reason: I know I’d be annoyed if he ever dared throw out MY “I swear I’ll be skinny enough for these again one day” jeans.

2. Planning a girls night.
I don’t care who is going out, frankly, but it’s common courtesy to check in with your significant other before setting up a night out. Who knows if he has to work late that night? Or was planning to take you out (hey, it could happen!). The point is, if he’s got to plan to stay home with the kids, or find a sitter so he can do his own thing that night, he should at least get a heads up.

3. Hitting up the joint account to buy something for yourself.
Now, now, I don’t mean you should have to check in with the hubs every time you want to go grocery shopping. But if you have a joint account, the idea is that the money will be used on things that benefit both parties. If you’re thinking of splurging on something that’s for you and you alone, do what you’d hope he’d do in the same situation.

4. Planning a family vacation.
My husband hates Disney World with a passion. We’ve gone twice, anyway, because we wanted to do something nice for our daughter, but you’d better believe I made sure he was on board first! Family vacations are for just that — the FAMILY. All adults involved should have a say in where you go and when.

5. Wearing his clothes.
Some folks may disagree with me on this, and I’ll be honest, I’ve grabbed one of my husband’s sweatshirts from the dryer without asking his permission. But I stopped doing it after he spotted me in one and said he’d actually been planning on wearing it himself. Oops!

6. Inviting company to the house.
What if he wants to spend a nice Saturday in his PJs on the couch? Not the best time to invite your BFF and her whole family over, huh? (P.S. This goes double if it’s your parents).

7. Pulling the goalie.
WHY oh WHY oh WHY do some women think it’s OK to just not use birth control without telling their partner? That’s one of the most low down tricks in the book, ladies, and your partner deserves better.

8. Throwing a playdate.
If I’m taking my daughter out of the house, I usually don’t bother to ask. But if he’s having a tough day at work, he deserves to weigh in on whether some strange kid will be sitting on our couch, talking his ear off, when he gets home.

9. Eating the leftovers.
Ever had a major craving for the rest of last night’s dinner (or dessert!) only to come home and find someone ate it all? Just ask first, OK?

10. Starting an extreme diet.
Now, I’m not saying you need his permission to get healthy. But if you’re going to suddenly ban all carbs from the house, it’s best to make sure the other adult in the house is ready to bid bye bye to bread.

11. Buying new sheets.
Can he sleep on flannel or does he find it to be insanely irritating? Worth finding out if he has to sleep on them!

12. Painting the walls.
What if that pretty purple gives him a headache? Just saying … it’s a lot cheaper to just ask first.

13. Hanging out with an ex.
He’s a jerk if he forbids it, but if he asks to go along, well … isn’t that within his rights? ————————————

China's Air Polution May Be Causing Some Freak Weather All Over The World

America now has something else to blame on China: a study released this week claims that pollution from Asia has been sweeping across the Pacific and affecting weather patterns in North America, including the extreme temperatures and storms the US and other regions have seen over the past year.

The study from Texas A&M University’s Department of Atmospheric Sciences looks at particles in the air caused by burning fossil fuels and other industrial processes, which can change cloud patterns and precipitation levels.
By comparing the levels of these “atmospheric aerosols” in the pre-industrial year of 1850 to 2000, the researchers concluded that aerosols floating over from Asia, mainly China, are intensifying the storm track over the Pacific Ocean. That means intensified cyclones and higher levels of precipitation.

Moreover, the aerosol build-up could be affecting weather around the globe. “There appears to be little doubt that these particles from Asia affect storms sweeping across the Pacific, and subsequently the weather patterns in North America and the rest of the world,” said Renyi Zhang, one of the researchers.

In January, scientists said that pollutants from Chinese factories, which take about six days to travel across the Pacific, have increased smog in the US—including one extra day a year of smog in Los Angeles.

Of course, much of that pollution comes from factories and industrial processes for making cheap goods exported to North American and other possibly affected regions.
The study released in January found that a fifth of the pollutants China releases into the air is the result of manufacturing goods for the US and other markets.

Why The Ghandi Family's Strongest Living Politician Has Never Entered Politics

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has long been considered one of India’s ruling Congress Party’s untapped assets.
The granddaughter of former prime minister Indira Gandhi, she not only bears a striking resemblance, but also shares her charisma and natural political skills—gifts her brother Rahul lacks.
In the midst of India’s national elections, as rival Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Narendra Modi appears to be in the lead, why Vadra hasn’t taken a bigger political role has become news again this week after she set off a media storm by blasting her cousin “This is not a family tea party.
It’s an ideological war,” she said, referring to her cousin Varun Gandhi, who joined the opposition.
Priyanka, 42, a mother of two, has always said she wasn’t interested in running for a district seat herself, preferring to help run her brother and mother Sonia’s campaigns. This week she seemed to leave a sliver of doubt about that decision, saying “my decision to not contest is only personal.
I will only change it when I feel from within that I should.” Several times in the past two decades she has insisted the decision was deeply personal: While campaigning for her mother in 1999, a 27-year-old Gandhi said: “I am very clear in my mind. Politics is not a strong pull, the people are. And I can do things for them without being in politics.”
Again in 1999, she denied her father’s Rajiv’s assassination while prime minister, or her grandmothers, were behind her reluctance: “These things happen. And in a way, I realized this at a young age after Indiraji’s death.
Every time my father left the house, we were aware that he may never return. I still haven’t got over his death, but I can’t blame politics for that.” In 2009 she used several lengthy interviews to explain her decision.
Her grandmother’s influence made her plan to be in politics as a teen, but a stint of Vipasana meditation convinced her differently, she said in one TV interview: “I was so troubled by the fact that I didn’t know my mind, so I just disappeared and went for 10 days of meditation, so that I better know what my own mind is, rather than what other people want of me.” In a second interview in 2009, she said her children shaped her decision: “I go to Khan Market to buy my groceries, look after my kids, make them cupcakes.
That’s what I do. I am not involved in the political process.
When my help is required by my brother or mother now and then for something or other, then they always do ask me (for help), and I do.

As comfortable as I look in the situation, and as naturally as it comes to me, there is also a side of me that makes me extremely uncomfortable making this the choice for the rest of my life. It is simply not the quality of life I want to lead.”

Primate Ayodele Predicts More Bomb Blasts

The Founder of Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church, Oke Afa, Isolo, Lagos, Primate Ayodele  has revealed in a recent interview that there will be more bomb blasts in the nation.
He said since security intelligence does not recognise prophecy, bloodletting will continue.
According to him, there are moles in the Presidency, the Senate, House Of Representatives, SSS, Nigeria Police Force, the Army, Air Force and the Navy who give information to these terrorists and President Jonathan knows who they are but is afraid to stand up to them, adding that their next targets are shopping malls and markets.
He explained that with prayers, these problems can be solved but the nation’s leaders have soiled their hands in evil acts and they derive pleasure in the shedding of blood. He said, “If Jonathan comes back 100 times to rule this country, he won’t be able to solve the problems. He does not listen to the voice of God, flattery and deceit are good music to him.
When you praise him he is always happy. Most of the pastors he goes to are afraid to tell him the truth. There is red signal all over the country.” -On the confab, he said they will speak the mind of the people and make recommendations but the government will not listen. -On the political situation in the country, he said members of the All Progressives Congress, -APC will defect to PDP before the 2015 elections and if APC refuses to give Muhammadu Buhari the ticket to contest the presidency he will quit, adding that there will be no elections in some state.
He called on all governors to pray so as not to lose four of their own to the cold hands of death. -On the abducted students, he said they will come out unhurt. -Speaking on Super Eagles and the world cup, he said they will try but they won’t get to the semi-final and Coach Stephen Keshi will quit coaching them after the World Cup. -On the missing Malaysian flight, he said the Malaysian government should be held responsible because they know its whereabouts.

Britains Youngest Parents Are 12 And 13 Years Old-A Lesson For Parents

This story should be an eye opener to parents with young children.Parents should be watchful and know what their children are doing. The father of the girl did not even know that his daughter is pregnant until 8 months. What a shame.

The 'proud' father of a 12-year-old girl who has become Britain’s youngest mother insisted yesterday that he would rather she had fallen pregnant than 'find she is on drugs'.
The schoolgirl, who became pregnant by her 13-year-old ‘boyfriend’ when she was still in primary school at the age of 11, gave birth to a 7lb 4oz girl on Sunday. At 12 years and three months, she is five months younger than the previous youngest UK mother.
The Year 7 pupil and the baby’s father, who are said to be ‘totally in love’ and who have been going out for a year, are believed to be Britain’s youngest parents. Her 'father' said that he would stand by his daughter - but admitted that he 'broke down with emotion' when discovering only four weeks ago that his eldest daughter was about to give birth.
Her father, who found out she was pregnant only a month ago, said: ‘I would rather have come home and had this than find out she was on drugs at 11 or 12.  'There's plenty of routes kids this age can go down. She's brought something beautiful into the world... That little girl does not bring shame to me at all, I’m so proud of her. Shame doesn’t even come into it. We didn’t know this was happening.  'Unfortunately kids this age are going to grow up to have boyfriends and partners or whatever.
If they do things behind their parents’ back that’s something we’re never going to be able to find out.’ The man, from North London, no longer lives with the girl’s mother, who has become a grandmother at 27.
Describing himself as a ‘proud grandad’ and using a false name to protect the identity of the girl, he told LBC radio that both sets of parents were supporting the youngsters. He described the 13-year-old boy, whose identity has also been withheld, as a ‘great kid’. The girl's father told Nick Ferrari on LBC: ‘We only found out she was pregnant a month ago.
That means she was eight months pregnant. The baby is going to come into the world no matter what.  ‘You can just be supportive about it. The families on both sides are going to be very supportive about it. It is heartb…..reaking, but you can't turn back time. You can only go forwards. ‘We don't know where it happened. What you're implying is that we knew they were having sexual intercourse in bedrooms. No.' He said he would not let his three-year-old daughter and nine-year-old son make the same mistake but denied that he could have prevented it. He added: 'We cannot keep her wrapped up her whole life. I cannot keep her wrapped up all her life.
You know, she goes to school, they spend time together. You can’t stop this.  'I cannot go out and watch my little girl 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It’s not possible. ‘It won’t be happening again, what’s happened has happened because you give your children a bit of slack.
So now we will be keeping an eye on people. Maybe we could of [sic] done more….
