16 Year-Old Kidnapped, Beaten And Left For Death In A Shopping Trolley By Paris Vigilantes
These are the shocking pics of a Roma teenager who was beaten and left for dead in a supermarket trolley. Vigilantes kidnapped the 16-year-old boy, known only as Darius, from the camp he shares with his family near the northern commuter town of Pierrefitte-sur-Seine on the outskirts of Paris.
The thugs rang the youngster's mother demanding a €12,000 ransom for the safe return of her son. The figure was later reduced to €4,000, but when it was not paid, the gang battered Darius before dumping him in a shopping trolley before leaving it on the roadside. Continue... Doctors in a Paris hospital have placed Darius in a medically induced coma following Friday's brutal assault, which has left him fighting for his life.
Police confirmed that Darius was set upon on Friday night by a ‘dozen masked men on waste ground around Pierrefitte,’ according to a police source. The boy's mother has told detectives that she received a call from the vigilantes on his abandoned mobile phone. The shocking photographs first appeared on The Telegraph. They were first alleged to have asked for around £12,000 before reducing the demand to around £4,000, saying he would be hurt if the ransom was not met. Nothing was paid in the end, and Darius was left in the trolley close to the illegal Roma camp in the northern suburb of Pierrefitte where he lived, according to local prosecutor Sylvie Moisson. Ms Moisson said Darius was held in a basement by men wearing masks and carrying weapons after he was linked to a burglary.
Calling the attack 'an act of barbarism', she said the burglar's description fitted that of Darius, who was 'quickly hunted, kidnapped, held, beaten and left to die.' It was his mother who reported the attack, and the victim was found shortly after 11pm on Friday. A spokesman for the Lariboisiere hospital in Paris said Darius was still in a 'chemically induced coma' because of the pain he was experiencing.

How I Predicted Kefee's Death-Ara
Vanguard reports,
Nigerian female talking drummer, Ara, who is a friend to late Kefee, says she had a dream concerning Kefee’s death and that she had called the late singer to pray hard to avert it.
In her words: “I want to use this forum to appeal to my colleagues in the music industry. Less than two years ago, I had a dream about Keffee and immediately called her and narrated it to her, I also appealed to her not to make a joke of it….the rest is history. Early this year, I had a dream and contacted Efe of NOW music as he’s the only one I could call and told him to please organise a forum for all musicians to assemble and pray against death amongst us (please confirm from Efe). It’s sad we had to lose my girlfriend, sister and colleague…so sad.
When a revelation comes like that, it means there is a way out. Once again, we need to come together as a body under one roof to rebuke and pray about this revelation I had early this year. Yes, we all have different sources of prayer but this is a prayer we all must observe together. I beg you all. I didn’t want to speak out but I have no choice.
Mother Stabs Herself To Death After Watching Her Son Die During Abuja Demolition
Abuja yesterday was shut down and pandemonium took over on the popular Kubwa-Zuba expressway after a woman and her son tragically lost their lives during the demolition of Lungu Village in the FCT.
According to angry natives, Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) officials, in the company of heavily armed military personnel stormed their community at about 9am and started demolishing houses along with their belongings, not minding if people were inside or not. A demolition they said that was not announced .
An eyewitness told reporters:
“During the demolition, a primary school boy came home from school tired and hungry, not understanding what was going on, he entered their house to change from his school uniform and as he was still inside the house, that was when the bulldozer demolishing their house and blocks fell on the boy. Attempts to rescue the boy were not successful because the military and policemen were using whips against us. They even prevented his mother from rescuing him. The boy died immediately. When the mother of the boy saw what happened to her child, she took a broken bottle and stabbed herself to death.”
The woman's death sparked an outrage and the angry natives started a protest, at about 12 noon. They barricaded the expressway with burning tyres and bricks. JethroIliya, another eye witness said that they initially started the protest inside Gwarinpa estate, but when there was no response from the FCT minister, Sen. Bala Mohammed or relevant authorities, they decided to move to Kubwa-Zuba expressway to express their grievances.
He said: “To make matters worse the policemen shot two people, when we were protesting over the two people shot, the military men started shooting again in the air. As I speak to you, two people are dead and two are currently in the hospital. What wrong have we done as natives of Abuja to have given our land to the federal government? We have given enough! They have collected our farmlands, we were quiet, now they are coming to chase us out of our houses. We have so many graduates everywhere, but no job, yet they will say we are not educated. Enough is enough, we have been pushed to the wall. This is just the beginning, we cannot take this anymore! Was it a crime for us to have given our land to Nigeria? This is too much, we are not animals. They should do the right thing in Abuja, before it is too late,” he said.
Man Kills Friend For Raping Sister
An angry man has allegedly stabbed his friend to death in Olodi- Apapa area of Lagos State for raping his sister.
LEADERSHIP reports that trouble had started when the girl, identified as Miss Usims, ran home and reported to her brother that his friend raped her when she was sent on an errand last Sunday.
The following day, when the suspect accosted his friend in the company of his father, Mr Usims, and his brother, on Price Fadina Street, a war of words ensued and further degenerated into a fight between the accused and the Usims. In the ensuing scuffle, one of the Usims, identified as Samuel, allegedly stabbed the suspected rapist in the neck with a screw-driver. According to an eye-witness, sympathisers who were present at the scene turned on the Usims for taking the law into their hands and ordered the Usims to take the young man to the hospital. Unfortunately, on getting to the hospital, the young man was confirmed dead.
The divisional police officer of Trinity Police Station, CSP Ishola Olanrewaju, told LEADERSHIP FRIDAY that he was on leave when the incident occurred but he was told that a mob wanted to lynch a family in a private hospital and policemen from his division were drafted to the scene where they intervened, rescuing Usim and one of his sons. But that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba.

Boy Stabs 17-Year-Old To Death For Raping Sister
Vanguard reports:
Isaac was said to have engaged the 17-yearold Kehinde, a vulcanizer who was said to have left Ibadan for Lagos in search of greener pasture, in a fight. In the process, Isaac allegedly stabbed Kehinde with a screw driver in the neck.
Eyewitnesses said Kehinde was first rushed to Saint James Hospital, from where he was referred to Falati Hospital. He was said to have breathed his last before he could reach the hospital, apparently due to loss of blood. When news of Kehindes death filtered in, hoodlums were said to have invaded the alleged killers residence at 44, Prince Fadina Street, where they descended on members of his family.
But for the intervention of some concerned residents, the suspects younger brother would have been lynched. Other occupants of the building were said to have fled for fear of being caught up in the attack. As at last night, the residents were yet to return.
However, his father and younger brother were reportedly arrested by the police. Contacted, spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Ngozi Braide, condemned the killing of the alleged rapist, describing the act as barbaric. Braide said Usim had no right to kill someone, no matter the circumstances.

The Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, has described rumors of a possible coup d' etat by the military as unfounded. ACM Badeh stated this on Tuesday while receiving the Director General of the National Orientation Agency , Dr Mike Omeiri in his office.
He said the Military would always work to protect the democracy of Nigeria and not destroy it. "Rumours in some quarters of a possible coup d’état in the country are unfounded. Why should anyone be thinking in the negative fashion? Tell them we will not do it. Those spreading rumours of coups must be living elsewhere and not in Nigeria. T Moblie: Stream All The Music You Want
T-Mobile just made it a lot easier to stream music on your phone. The feisty wireless carrier announced a new program Wednesday that will let users stream music on certain apps without it counting toward monthly network data caps.
T-Mobile is calling the program Music Freedom, and it will initially include Spotify, Pandora, Rhapsody, iTunes Radio, iHeartRadio, Slacker, Samsung Milk and Beatport. T-Mobile CEO John Legere said at an event in Seattle that 113 million U.S. mobile users now stream music, up from 19 million in 2009. But at present, he added, many users limit their mobile streaming for fear of extra charges when they exceed their monthly data caps. "It's a pain point, it's a big one, it's a growing one, and we decided not just to step in slightly, but to completely eliminate it forever," Legere said. T-Mobile (TMUS) has already gotten rid of extra charges for customers who exceed their high-speed data limits, though service does slow down once those limits are passed. With Music Freedom, customers who have exceeded their data limits will still get free high-speed music streaming.
While customers will likely be enthused, T-Mobile's Music Freedom program could draw concern from advocates of net neutrality, the principle that all data online be treated equally by Internet service providers. The worry is that when certain services get privileged access to customers, established companies could gain a permanent advantage over new competitors. AT&T announced a similar program earlier this year dubbed "sponsored data," under which content from paying businesses doesn't count against monthly data caps. The Federal Communications Commission is currently working to finalize new net neutrality regulations, though those won't apply to the mobile Internet. Legere dismissed concerns about Music Freedom's net neutrality implications, saying new services could be quickly included in the program. T-Mobile chief marketing officer Michael Sievert said the company isn't getting paid by the services participating in Music Freedom.T-Mobile CEO blasts AT&T and Amazon on Twitter T-Mobile also announced a new streaming service Wednesday in partnership with Rhapsody called "unRadio" that will cost $5 a month, cheaper than Spotify's mobile service. T-Mobile is also allowing customers to "test drive" its network with an iPhone 5s for seven days free of charge.
The announcements are T-Mobile's latest moves in an ongoing marketing campaign it's dubbed the "un-carrier" strategy. The goal is to upend the mobile industry, and T-Mobile has been doing that by eliminating contracts, dropping international roaming charges and offering to pay competitors' customers $650 to switch over. So far, T-Mobile's "uncarrier" push has paid off in the form of increased market share. The company said last month that it added a record 2.4 million subscribers in the first three months of this year, its fourth consecutive quarter with more than 1 million total net additions. Sprint wants T-Mobile, but don't count on it But these efforts have come at the cost of narrowing margins and widening losses.
T-Mobile finished the first quarter with a loss of $151 million, up from $20 million in the last three months of 2013. Wednesday's event came a day after the voluble Legere bashed Amazon for lining up AT&T (T, Tech30) as the exclusive service provider for the new Fire Phone. "The odd thing is, big + bigger = fewer options for customers," Legere tweeted. But T-Mobile is itself in the process of finalizing a $32 billion merger with Sprint (S), according to reports earlier this month.
If approved by regulators, the deal would unite the nation's third- and fourth-largest carriers into a combined entity with subscriber numbers comparable to industry leaders AT&T and Verizon (VZ, Tech30). Legere declined to comment on the rumored Sprint merger, though he said T-Mobile's "un-carrier" effort will continue regardless of what happens. "I believe the competition in the U.S. wireless industry is much better because T-Mobile exists," he said. "In anything we do, it will be about the un-carrier revolution and the T-Mobile company and brand getting bigger and stronger and changing the industry."

Google Fibre TV Box Variant Spotted in Fcc Filing
It does seem as though one of the newer FCC filings out there has dropped clues concerning an upgraded variant of the Google Fiber TV box. As anyone can tell by the name alone, this particular Google Fiber TV box will be limited in its availability, targeting those regions where Google Fiber is available at the moment.
We do hope that the folks over at Google will be able to share additional details in due time, and what better place to do so than at the Google I/O event that is happening next week? In this particular FCC filing, it does show the Google Fiber TV box to arrive with hardware specifications such as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/c/n, 10/100 Ethernet, MoCA, Bluetooth and HDMI 1.4 connectivity. In addition, we now know that the model number for the Fiber TV box would be GFHD200, and other than that, virtually nothing else is known about the hardware at this point in time, although the final product would most probably not veer too far away from what is in existence at the moment.
Chances are pretty high that the Google Fiber TV will run on Android as the operating system of choice, accompanied by the rest of Google services to boot. Not only that, there is also a chance of a standalone Android TV console to be announced in order to enter into the market that is currently seeing the likes of Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV dominate.
Prostitute Stabs Soldier To Death For Refusing To Pay in Bayelsa State
A commercial sex worker has stabbed a soldier attached to the Joint Military Task Force to death for failing to pay for her service after engaging her till day break. The soldier was reportedly stabbed several times with knife in the stomach by the prostitute. The unnamed prostitute is said to be an indigene of Edo State.
Punch reports that the incident, which occurred early Tuesday morning threw the popular ‘Red Light zone’ on Hospital Junction along Alamieyeseigha Way, Yenagoa, into pandemonium. Most of the customers that slept over with other prostitutes quickly dressed up to avoid being detected by onlookers.
Some commercial sex workers, who spoke with PUNCH Metro claimed that the stabbing forced the intestines of the soldier to come out and he bled profusely. However, there was report that the soldier died later on Wednesday, yesterday, at an undisclosed hospital where he was rushed to.
A prostitute, who wished not to be quoted, said the cause of the stabbing was the alleged refusal of the soldier to pay after having bouts of sex with the prostitute. She said: “When the prostitute asked for her money in the morning, the soldier refused to give her. Then argument ensued between the prostitute and the soldier. The prostitute was angry that after enjoying himself, the soldier refused to pay her. In the ensuing argument, the prostitute grabbed her knife and stabbed the soldier in the stomach.”
Another source, who identified himself as Chika, said the reported death of the soldier caused panic in the area with sex workers running away due to anticipated reprisals by soldiers.
“The incident has created fear among the prostitutes. If you come hear now, the prostitutes have deserted the area. We heard argument coming from the prostitute’s room. The next thing we saw was the soldier struggling with blood flowing from the wounds in his stomach.”
When contacted, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hilary Opara, confirmed the incident. Opara said the suspected prostitute had been arrested. “The suspect has been arrested and the incident is being investigated. However, we have yet to receive report that he died.
The soldier is recuperating in the hospital.” Efforts to reach JTF spokesman, Mustapha Anka, a lieutenant colonel, for comments, were not successful. He simply said he was in a meeting.

Cultists Hack Driver,Dump Body on Lagos Highway
The battered body of a man was discovered on Olopo Meji, Oworonshoki Expressway in Lagos on Saturday June 14th. The body was crushed many times by vehicles on the highway before it was discovered.
Punch reports
that the body was later identified as that of 35 year old Yemi, aka Topia, a resident of the area. A resident of the area, Michael Oladipupo, told Punch that the dead man was the son of a landlord on Mabawonku Street. Oladipupo said Yemi was not killed by a hit-and-run vehicle as the situation suggested, but his body was dumped on the highway to serve as an alibi for his killers. Continue... “I was called this morning (Saturday) around 9am and told that there was a corpse on the road. I came here and saw his body on the expressway. But as we traced its movement, we discovered that he was dragged to the expressway from a spot close to the Oworonshoki Bridge. “After killing him, they dumped him on the road so that the scene would look like an accident. Vehicles and heavy-duty trucks passing by have torn his body into pieces so that people will not be able to identify him.” Oladipupo said He said he could not tell whether some parts of his body were taken away for ritual purposes or not.
Investigations by Punch Metro revealed that Yemi was murdered by a gang suspected to be members of the Black Axe Confraternity, popularly called Aiye. It was learnt from sources who craved anonymity that the victim, who was a driver, was lured out of his room in the night and bundled into an iron cart, on which he was wheeled to the point of the murder. “It was the Aiye members that killed him. Yemi is not a cultist, but he had friends who were Eiye members. Because there was a fight between the two cult groups, Yemi was mistaken for a member and targeted. “They first inflicted machete wounds on him, but when it appeared he was not completely dead, they dragged him to the expressway for oncoming vehicles to finish what they started.” A source said Some relatives of the deceased were seen sobbing near the site of the incident, while others were overheard breaking the sad news to other family members on the telephone. A relative was overheard by our correspondent in the telephone conversation, saying Yemi had had a misunderstanding with a man who threatened to kill him. She said, “They have killed him….
He called me few days ago on the telephone that somebody came to his house with his boys and threatened to kill him if he does not pay the money he owed him.” When our correspondent approached her for comment, she said, “He was sleeping in his room when they cunningly drew him out.”

MASSOB leader Ralph Uwazuruike, who spoke in a telephone interview with The Nation, warned that his group would no longer tolerate the mindless killing of Ndigbo in any part of the country. According to him, the movement would “retaliate with equal and decisive force if terrorists attack any city in the zone”. His words: “The position of MASSOB on this matter is firm. We will bring down Nigeria, if any bomb goes off in the Southeast. We can no longer tolerate the mindless killing of Ndigbo in any part of Nigeria because we will retaliate with equal force against any attack on any part of Igboland.” The group also warned against what it described as the deliberate posting of military, police, Customs and Immigration officers, who are Igbo, to the Northeast to confront the Boko Haram insurgents. It alleged that their counterparts from the North were being posted to the Southeast for safety. But MASSOB did not support its stand with figures. MASSOB claimed that such a measure was part of the grand plan of the pre-Nigerian civil war agenda to totally annihilate Igbo officers and men in the nation’s military by the powers that be.

Algeria yesterday lost 2-1 to Belgium making ivory cost the only African country to win a match in the ongoing world cup in Brazil. The Algerians started very well at the beginning of the match, but lost concentration after they scored the first goal of the match. At least 4 out of 5 African countries that qualified for the world cup are now at the risk of being eliminated at the group stage of the competition.
Mexico Goalkeeper Denied Brazil A Win in Their Second Match
Brazil Attackers could not put a goal behind the mexico goalkeeper last night when they played mexico.Brazil displayed their usual samba style of football, but the Mexican goalie frustrated their attacking squard made up of Neymar,Fred,Hulk and Paulinho. The match ended 0-0, which means both teams shared 1 points each.Brazil now has 4 points and Mexico is also having 4 points.Brazil is at the top of group A on goal difference. Both teams look good to qualify from group A.In the first match played yesterday Belgium defeated Algeria 2-1.
World Cup: Bad Start For African Teams
African countries have had a poor start in their first games in the group stages in the ongoing World Cup, with just one win (Ivory Coast 2-1 Japan), one draw (Nigeria 0 - 0 Iran) and three losses (Cameroon 0 -1 Mexico 1, USA 2 - 1 Ghana, Belgium 2 -1 Algeria). It is sure not the desired start for the five teams from Africa.
With tougher games to come for Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana and Algeria, the danger signs are there for them. In Group A, Cameroon will play a resolute Croatian side and the host Brazil in their last two group matches after losing 1-0 to Mexico in their first game. A point from these two games will be a big achievement for Samuel Eto`o and co, making their progress to the next round seem impossible.
In Group C, Ivory Coast is the only African team to win their first group match and may progress to the next round. Gervinho and Wilfred Bony scored two goals in three minutes to give Drogba and co a winning start after Honda had given Japan an early lead. The Orange boys of Africa will have to see off either Colombia or Greece to stand any chance of making it to the next round.

Driver Drags Keke Napep Rider To Death in Lagos
PUNCH Metro reports
that Onu, an indigene of Enugu State, had alighted from his tricycle, popularly called, Keke NAPEP, to complain that Kingsley hit his motorcycle and injured one of his passengers. The driver reportedly ignored the deceased and made to drive off when Onu pulled him by the shirt in a bid to stop him from escaping. The suspect wound up his window glass with the deceased’s hand stuck, and raced down the Apapa Road, dragging him on the road in the process. A friend of the deceased, Emmanuel Esan, who spoke to Punch said they lived in the same room on Ilaje Street.
He said: “We were together in the room that evening because we lived together. He did not plan to go out that day, but because there was no electricity, he decided to go out and make some money. I suddenly woke up around 12 midnight and didn’t see him by my side. I decided to call his telephone line, but the person who picked it said the owner of the phone had been injured in an accident and was at the police station.” He said he never knew his friend had died until someone broke the news to him while he was heading for the Iponri Police Station. Esan lamented that Onu might not have died if he had been helped to the hospital on time. “I learnt he was on the accident spot for over two hours before the police arrived and took them to the station. He was asked to make statements, together with the driver. It was on the way to the hospital that he died,”
he added He said Onu had only recently bought an application form to run a part time academic programme at the Yaba College of Technology, when fate struck. Uncle to the deceased, Mike Onu, said he brought him to Lagos 15 years ago. He described him as a quiet, humble and hardworking boy, adding that the incident was unfortunate. “He was working hard for his future when the incident happened. He has just two brothers; one is in Sokoto, while the second is in Enugu. Since he died, his body has been lying there at the Mainland General Hospital mortuary. We have been waiting to hear from the family of the suspect, but none of them has shown up. We believe the police will help us handle the situation,” he added.
A family friend, Spurgeon Ataene, asked the police authorities to give the deceased justice. The legal practitioner said: “The circumstances under which a case can be regarded as a fatal motor accident are clearly distinct from that of a case of murder. Murder is with intent to kill ab initio. Here, the suspect was not even provoked. He was the one who hit the passengers and was being confronted. He still sped off, brushing Onu’s body on the concrete tars, peeling off his flesh in the process and turning his body to piles of meat. This is a clear case of murder and should be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department.” The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Ngozi Braide, could not be reached on the telephone. Punch reports that a text message sent to her phone had also yet to be replied as of the time of filing this report.
Mikel Obi Accuses Iran Of Parking The Bus
Mikel Obi who operated in an unfamiliar No.10 role, in contrast to his midfield position at Chelsea was the man-of-the-match.
After the game, Mikel admitted his side played below expectation, said they will need to be sharper in front of goal if they are to reach the second round.
He said: “We are very disappointed because the opening match is very important. We looked for the win, but Iran knew what we wanted to do and put 11 men behind the ball. They managed to stop us from playing our game. We’ll have to create more chances in our next match and be sharp in front of goal.” Next match will be between Nigeria and Bosnia in Cuiaba on Saturday night.
