I caught my wife red-handed with different men, man tells court



A 23-year marriage between Azeez Adeshina, a bricklayer, and his wife,  Oluwatoyin, a banker, was on Friday dissolved on the orders of an Ikorodu Customary Court in Lagos State on the grounds of the wife’s desertion.

The 40-year-old husband said his wife left their matrimonial home 10 years ago because he caught her red-handed with a man.

Adeshina, who resides at Ipinyewa, off Adamo Road in Ikorodu, had approached the court, asking it to dissolve the marriage which has produced three children.

You Cannot Intimidate Fani-Kayode, Southern, Middle Belt Youths Reply North





Youths under the aegis of Southern and Middle Belt Allied Youths (SAMBAY) have replied their northern counterparts for the threat the Arewa Youth Forum (AYF) issued against a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode.

 In a statement signed by Fidelis Ujah (Middle Belt), Onyema Ukachukwu (South-east) and Mustapha Olasubomi (South-west) after an emergency meeting called by the group to discuss the threats that have not only been issued by northern elements against Femi Fani-Kayode but also against the other parts of the country in recent times as regards permutations for 2019, the group warned that nothing whatsoever must happen to the former minister.

The group said it knows that it is the AYF that is pursuing purely selfish interests by insisting that power must remain in the North when their definition of “North” has clearly over the years excluded the middle belt region.

Kidnappers murder man after collecting ransom



The Ogun State Police Command has smashed a six-man kidnapping gang which allegedly lured a man, Femi Olatunji, from his home in the Isheri area of Ogun State to Igbokoda, Ondo State, where they killed him after collecting a ransom.

The suspects’ names were given as Fadeni Henry, Lebile Olatunji, Ehuwa Oririe, Olotu Tosin, Oluwole Ohunayo, and Peter Omogbemi.

The leader of the gang, 23-year-old Henry, had reportedly struck a relationship with the victim on the social media, and allegedly lured him to Igbokoda, the gang’s base, on Friday, May 12, 2017.

The state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, said the wife of the victim had reported the kidnap of her husband to the police.

Army: Why We Established Military Base in Daura, Buhari’s Hometown





The Nigerian Army saturday said its decision to establish a unit in Daura, hometown of President Muhammadu Buhari, was in fulfilment of implementation of the approved Order of Battle 2016 (ORBAT 2016) by the Army Council.

The Army stated that the establishment of the military base was to further enhance security in parts of its area of responsibility in 1 Division.

Director of Army Public Relations, Brig-General Sani Usman said in a statement that the unit was named Fort Muhammadu Buhari Forward Operation Base, after President Muhammadu Buhari. Usman stressed that the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Tukur Buratai, unveiled the unit on Friday.
The Director added that “the establishment of the new unit was part of the implementation of the Nigerian Army approved Order of Battle 2016 (ORBAT 2016) by the Army Council.”
