Couple Accidentally Kills Their Baby Boy by Treating His Meningitis With Home Remedies

The parents of a 19-month-old baby boy are facing charges for failing to "provide the necessities of life" after their son died from meningitis.
According to CBC, the parents told police that Ezekiel had been sick for weeks with a runny nose and fever. He also had difficulties with breathing. Instead of taking him in for treatments, however, the couple tried to ease the boy's symptoms with homemade remedies such as maple syrup mixed with water and juice with frozen fruit. The parents also tried a concoction of garlic, ginger root, and apple cider vinegar before their son suddenly stopped breathing. Though they called an ambulance, Ezekiel died five days later.

5 Scientific Ways Drinking Beer Makes Men BETTER In Bed

beer
Is there anything beer CAN'T do?
Dreams really do come true, and a whole lot of men are about to get very happy. Apparently, drinking beer makes men better in bed, at least according to an article on AskMen.
Did I just hear someone cracking open another cold one and smiling?
Instead of affecting a guy's sex life in a negative way, the news that beer can be a positive for a guy's sexual performance is a game changer. The timing couldn't be better, since not only are we in football season, but it's also the time where consuming massive amounts of beer isn't just tolerated — it's encouraged (Oktoberfest, anyone?).
So, dudes, it's kind of your moral obligation to drink like you're in high school behind the bleachers, or you're in college. Let the bros, jocks, surfer dudes, and frat guys celebrate what they hoped was true all along: that beer is healthy and magical, or magically healthy.

Life for 23-year-old Oluchi Obi in the last three months has been one tough journey of suffering.

“All I needed to do was to take care of the household and the man’s three children,” she said.
Obi’s boss, 47-year-old Frank Ikoh, was said to be ill at the time while his siblings were also on hand to take care of him in the house.

They said they just needed the housemaid to take care of the children and other chores in the house.
But that seemingly simple job would later land Obi in detention for 39 days on accusation that she had murdered her boss with a poisoned apple barely one month after she got to the house.

“I had not finished secondary school when I travelled to Libya last year December. I was just in SS2. It was Amokeyemi, one of our former tenants, that told me that Madam Ebunoluwa lives abroad and would assist me to travel to America, and my parents agreed. FG Apologises To Nigerians Over Power Failure

Babatunde Fashola

The Federal Government has blamed the prevailing power situation in the country on gas failure as well as sabotage and vandalization of power infrastructure, while apologizing to Nigerians for the hardship which the situation has imposed on them.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Friday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said all efforts are being made to rectify the situation and ensure a gradual improvement in the power situation.
”There will be a decent improvement in the power situation from this weekend, thanks to ongoing remedial efforts that will double the current power supply to 4,000WM. Getting back to the 5,074MW all-time high that was reached earlier will take a few more weeks,” he said.
Alhaji Mohammed said at a time the routine maintenance by the Nigeria Gas Company has affected the supply of gas to power stations, forcing down power supply from an all-time high of 5,074 MW to about 4,000MW, a combination of unsavoury incidents further crashed the power supply to about half that figure.
”The vandalization of the Forcados export pipelines forced oil companies to shut down, making it impossible for them to produce gas. Then, workers at the Ikeja Discos, who were protesting the disengagement of some of their colleagues after they failed the company’s competency test, apparently colluded with the National Transmission Station in Osogbo to shut down transmission.

I’ve Come to Demolish Money Gospel in Nigeria – Kenyan Prophet

.david
Speaking with journalists at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos shortly after his arrival from Kenya on Thursday, Prophet Owuor said he has come to Nigeria to put an end to the “gospel of money” which has led to a shift of focus from righteousness, repentance and holiness to materialism.
“Nigeria is a God fearing nation, but now if they are really God-fearing, then this is the moment to return to the true gospel of cross and the blood- the holy salvation and the gospel that is not connected to money- that we may prepare the hearts of the people and the nation for the coming of the Messiah and then everything else will follow.
“The Bible says seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and everything else will fall in place. So I really bring the message of holiness of repentance and to prepare for the coming of the King. So the kingdom of the church you see in Nigeria now, the building of universities, the money and private aircraft acquired with big money and all of that is going to come down. That is why I have come. I come with tremendous powers and there is no question about that,” Prophet Owuor declared.

Why is Lekki Gardens MD in prison while TB Joshua walks free?-Freeze Cool Fm querries

In Nigeria, what is good for the goose is not always good for the gander, if not why is Lekki Gardens MD and his contractor  remanded in police custody for 30 days, pending investigation in to the building collapse which killed over 20.Many have slammed the decision, saying Prophet TB Joshua whose building collapsed, killing over a 100 is yet to even appear in court.
Freeze Cool FM has also voiced his opinion on the issue he calls double standards'...
What really is Justice???
I have no qualms seeing a young man who committed a crime pay for that crime. Life is sad, before Richard came along, you could not dream of buying a house in LEKKI for 20million naira, his dream was to make choice housing affordable and available. Somewhere down the line mistakes were made and lives were lost! And yes I agree...... Someone must pay!
Now my questions;

Power Supply: Nigerians are architects of their own Problems – Presidency

fashola-at-buhari-apc-meeting
Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr Femi Adesina, was guest on Radio Continental programme Friday last week (March 4,2016). Here are excerpts from the interview:
Q: Fulani herdsmen have on several occasions been accused of ransacking places they pass through while they are herding their cattle. Nigerians are wondering and asking why there seems to be a very loud silence on the part of the federal government on the matter?
A: If anybody says there is a loud silence, it means that person has not been listening. At times, it is so very easy to say there has been silence, when that is not the case, because on this issue, last week in a major interview the President spoke on it. It was relayed on NTA for about two days running. He spoke on the Fulani herdsmen issue and a statement also came out from our office on the matter. So, if anybody says the President is silent or has been silent on the issue, it baffles me. The President spoke in an interview that was relayed on NTA and TVC, and he said it is a perennial problem, and something would be done about it. He talked about cattle grazing route, and he said between the federal government and the state governors, this matter would be looked at and tackled decisively. I also remember that Chief Audu Ogbe, the Agric Minister, has also indicated that quite soon, problem of herdsmen and farmers would be over in the country because they would do something about getting feed from Brazil for cattle rearers.

5-MONTH-OLD BABY GIRL 'DIES' AFTER UNDERGOING FGM IN GAMBIA!!!!

A five-month-old baby girl has reported died after being subjected to genital mutilation, a practice banned in the country.
5-month old Aminata Drammeh is said to have died immediately after undergoing mutilation.
The toddler was subjected to the gruesome practice after she was taken by grandmother Sunkaru Darboe to Isatou Camara said to be a circumciser in Kiang West
Both women are now being held by a Gambian lower court on charges of FGM and allegedly causing the death of the toddler.
The trial judge presiding the case is yet to grant the accused persons bail with one suspect said to be on the run.
Perpetrators of FGM crime face up to 3-year in jail and a possible D50,000 fine in Gambian law.
FGM banning comes after its incorporation into the country's Women's Act by parliament.
This reels in as a huge sigh of relief for anti-FGM campaigners who'd been mounting pressure for a law to be legislated since head of state Jammeh announced abolition of the age-old practice.

Ibinabo weeps as Court confirms five years’ jail term.

Ibinabo weeps as Court confirms five years' jail term
The Court of Appeal Lagos Division, Friday dismissed an appeal filed by ex beauty queen, Ibinabo Fiberesima challenging a Lagos High Court judgement which sentenced her to serve five years in prison for the death of one Dr. Giwa Suraj.
The embattled president of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN) was sentenced by Justice Deborah Oluwayemi for reckless driving which caused the death of Suraj in an auto accident along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos.
He was a staff of a Lagos State hospital.
Dissatisfied, Fiberesima in her amended appellant brief filed by her lawyer, Nnaemeka Amaechina, urged the court to set aside the sentence and restore the decision of the Magistrate Court which sentenced her to a N100, 000 fine.
But, delivering judgment Friday, the appellate court dismissed the appeal and affirmed the High Court’s judgment.
In a unanimous decision delivered by Justice Jamilu Yammama Tukur the court held that the trial Magistrate Court lacked the discretion to grant Ibinabo an option of fine after her conviction.
It held further that the appeal lacked merit and thereby dismissed it accordingly.
Other members of the panel are Justice U.I. Ndukwe-Anyanwu (Mrs.) (presiding) and Justice Tijani Abubakar respectively.
Ibinabo, who was visibly apprehensive throughout the proceeding, burst into tears immediately the judgment was delivered.
The court had, at its last sitting, ordered her to appear before it on judgement day.
Speaking on the judgement, her lawyer, Nnaemeka Amaechina, said it would be challenged at the Supreme Court adding that a Notice of Appeal had been filed already.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command had in 2005 charged Fiberesima to an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court on a two-count charge of dangerous and reckless driving along the Lekki- Epe Expressway, Lagos which resulted in the death of Suraj.

STEPS 1: Start with maintaining a safe driving speed; there are just no two sides to this. The lower your speed, the higher your chance of survival. A blowout at 80–90 km/h (50–56 mph) will be far less dramatic than one at 140–150 km/h (87–93 mph). Indeed, if you survive a tyre burst at 150 km/h (93 mph), consider it a gift of God.

STEP 2: Do not slam on the brake pedal. Of course, this is easier said than done, as our brains are hardwired to instinctively jam the brake pedal in an emergency. Hard braking is actually the worst thing you can do as it will further imbalance the vehicle and throw it out of control.
STEP 3: Don’t abruptly take your foot off the accelerator. Do it slowly and gradually. In fact, Michelin recommends that you maintain accelerator input momentarily, before releasing it slowly. The deceleration force from a blown tyre is so strong that your car will anyway slow down rapidly. If you have engaged cruise control, be sure to disengage it immediately.
STEP 4: Try your best to keep the vehicle pointed straight. Cornering or turning with a blown tyre will greatly upset the car’s composure. If your car is pulling to one side, you might need to pull the steering in the opposite direction to keep it going straight. This is critical, else you risk drifting into the road divider or worse still, the opposite lane.
STEP 5: Do not attempt to over-correct. The key is to maintain the vehicle’s stability. A sharp yank of the steering wheel can result in a rollover. Even when you have gained control and are slowly moving to a safe parking spot, do so with the mildest steering inputs possible.
STEPS 6: Allow the vehicle to gradually coast to a stop. Use engine braking if necessary. Lightly engage the brakes only when your car has decelerated to a slow speed. Use the turn indicators and pull over safely off the road. Drive on the bare metal wheel if you have to, but do not stop in the middle of the road as you run the risk of getting rear-ended by a speeding car. Remember to activate your hazard lights when stopped.

I will never marry an actor- Halima Abubakar

Halima Abubakar has opened up on the kind of man she likes, vowing never to marry an actor..

Read excerpts from her interview with the Nation

On men finding her intimidating...

Well, that will be the man’s business because I didn’t tell such a man not to go to school, or have a library; I cannot afford not to be myself because of a man who feels intimidated by me. A man should even be happy to encourage me. Any man that is intimidated by a lady is not a man.
I have, however, learnt to be tolerant of people. I have learnt to ignore a lot of side talks; I have learnt to be patient with a lot of people, because I have a temper which I have learnt to control. I am working on myself. Also because of the way that I have been treated in the past by people, I really do not value friendship. I am trying hard to know people and that’s where patience comes in. I am still trying to open up; I hope I will be able to do that with a man that I hope to spend the rest of my life with. I do not want a man that I will spend just one year with and he’s gone. I don’t want a man that will make me pop out babies, then he will go clubbing. I will drag his hair to the house! I’ve had anger in the past, so it’s easy to piss me off and it’s easy for me to forgive. I don’t react; at the same time I’m not a robot, so I am bound to react once in a while.

How about marriage?

Marriage will come when it will come. You don’t rush it. It is one of the few things that one does not need to rush. Marriage is not a movie that one has to rush.  You do not marry because the public wants you to get married. You do not marry because you are getting old, you do not marry because you are too young. You get married when it’s the right time. You get married when you meet the right man, when you know that it is okay and the man too is okay. And you are sure that you are going to have a fine, peaceful marriage.

But there are guys in the movie industry, haven’t they been approaching you with subtle
marital proposals?

Well, you do not get married because you are in Nollywood or because people there are proposing. Moreover I do not encourage people to date where they work.
Does that also mean that you are not likely to marry an actor?
I will definitely not marry an actor.

Meet the girl who bleeds from her nose, eyes, ears

A girl who is unable to leave her home because blood can start spontaneously seeping from her eye, ears, beneath her tongue and from her scalp at any moment.
For 17-year-old Marnie-Rae Harvey, this horrific scenario is her everyday life.
Her mother is terrified for her daughter and says she has to "shake her every morning to check she is alive".

Baffled doctors have no idea what is causing the bleeding, which is steadily getting worse, and have dubbed her the "Mystery Girl" as they struggle to come up with a diagnosis.

Until they do, the teenager is forced to stay at home as the bleeding could start at any time, and must cope with the stigma of her condition which means she has lost most of her friends.

Her mother said: "Every morning I have to shake her to see if she is still alive. It's absolutely devastating. It happens every single day. We've just gone through 12 days of solid bleeding from her tongue and scalp. She is sick four or five times a day, vomiting blood."

Last July, the teenager woke up with blood seeping out of her eye. She was rushed to hospital by her terrified family, but doctors could do nothing.Soon after, blood started seeping from her ears and from under her fingernails.
In the last couple of months the mysterious bleeding has spread to her scalp and under her tongue.
Cath said that her daughter had been coughing up blood and suffering from excruciating migraines for a couple of years before the bleeding started, meaning she was often to ill to go to school.
She said:
"It feels like we are living in a horror movie.
"At first it was only her eye. She woke up in a pool of blood. She came downstairs with the blood pouring from her eye. We rushed her to A&E but they could do nothing for her.
"Then it started coming from inside her ears, big blood clots, and then from under her fingernails. Recently, she tipped her head upside down and blood started spurting out from her scalp.
"The strangest thing is that her eye can be pouring blood until her face is covered and then suddenly it stops and the whites of her eyes are clear.

Cath said she feels frustrated that doctors are unable to diagnose her daughter's condition.
She said:
"We’ve had it confirmed that Marnie does not have a brain tumour.
"Her blood tests come back clear and healthy, her iron levels are strong.
"She has no tumours, no blood diseases and no blood clotting disorders. Her blood clots well. Doctors have no answers, they are shocked. My local GP calls her the Mystery Girl. He knows what it isn't but not what it is."

An ultrasound scan showed her liver, kidneys, womb and ovaries and confirmed all organs are functioning perfectly, she added, and her eyes, ears, nose and throat are all fine.
