The vigilant group mobilized, laid ambush and waited patiently for the militants, a source in the village disclosed. The source added that as soon as the Islamist insurgents numbering more than 100 showed up in the village to pick up their favorite meals, the vigilantes attacked them, killing most of them in a hail of bullets.

Antioxidant Property Of Egg Could help prevent Heart Disease

While eggs are well known to be an excellent source of proteins, lipids, vitamins and minerals, researchers recently discovered they also contain antioxidant properties, which helps in the prevention of cardiovascular disease and cancer.

Jianping Wu and fellow researchers examined egg yolks produced by hens fed typical diets of either primarily wheat or corn. They found the yolks contained two amino acids, tryptophan and tyrosine, which have high antioxidant properties.

After analyzing the properties, the researchers determined that two egg yolks in their raw state have almost twice as many antioxidant properties as an apple and about the same as half a serving (25 grams) of cranberries.

The issue of not negotiatingwith the terrorists its out of the question. If it means talking to the devil, it means the devil can come down, we can get back our girls. The group that kidnapped the girls are a bunch of raving lunatics.

New Father Kills His 5-Week-Old Son

A new father killed his five-week-old son because he felt fatherhood meant 'his life was over', a UK court heard today. Matthew Wickens, 24, lost his temper when he was left alone with baby Riley Gardener at the family home in Paignton, Devon. He shook his son, before slamming his face into a cot - causing him to suffer severe head injuries.
He then repeatedly lied about what he had done - and even tried to cover up the baby's injuries by putting a hat on him. His lies meant Riley's mother, Gemma Gardener, became a suspect and was forced to give up their other son, Jayden, for 14 months. Continue...

But now, Wickens has been jailed for six years and five months after admitting manslaughter at Exeter Crown Court.   Simon Laws QC, prosecuting, said Wickens and Miss Gardener had had an 'on-off' relationship while she was pregnant with Riley, with the former even having 'a relationship with another woman'. He said Wickens had initially appeared fine with the idea of having a second son, but then ‘got cold feet and became ambivalent towards fatherhood’. 'He seemed unwilling or unable to commit himself wholeheartedly to domestic life and regarded it as restricting his freedoms,' he said.

But despite his apparent unwillingness, Wickens eventually moved into Miss Gardener's flat in a bid to 'prove his commitment to their relationship’, the court heard.  Mr Laws said Wickens had felt Riley's birth two years ago meant ‘his life was over’ - and that he had felt he would ‘just be a father all the time’ and not going out like his friends. The supermarket worker, who had hoped to join the Army, ‘did not like to be told what I can do and what I cannot do’ by his partner, he said. But one day, Wickens agreed to look after Riley as Miss Gardener and their older son, Jayden, went out shopping, the court heard.
He bottle-fed and changed the baby, before losing his temper and assaulting his son - shaking him, before slamming his head face down into a cot. Despite Riley's severe head injuries, Wickens, who was 22 at the time, then failed to summon any medical help for his son. And when Riley’s mother returned home with Jayden from shopping, Wickens left her to discover her 'dying or dead son' in his bed, the court heard. He then repeatedly lied about what had happened - and even put a hat on Riley to cover up a mark on his forehead. At one point, he claimed he had banged his son's head against the metal arm of a baby swing, before dropping him on the bedroom floor. His lies meant that Miss Gardener fell under the suspicion of the police - and was forced to give up Jayden for 14 months while she battled care proceedings.
However, a post-mortem examination later revealed that Riley had died from shaking and an impact on November 25, 2012.  Paul Dunkels QC, defending, told the court: '[Wickens] wishes to express his deep regret and remorse. He lost his temper and shook Riley and slammed his face down on to his cot.' He said Wickens had showed ‘cowardice and selfishness to not say what had happened straight away’ at the flat in the Winner Street area of Paignton.  He added that the defendant may have been tired after getting up in the night to see to Riley while working long hours, but that was ‘no excuse’ because parents have to carry on.

Sentencing Wickens, Judge Francis Gilbert QC told him it would remain a 'heavy burden for the rest of your life that you killed your own child'.
He added that the defendant wished he could turn back the clock and that it had ‘all been a bad dream’.

Negotiating With Terrorists:Let The Chibok Parents Decide

Another article written by Dr. Peregrino Brimah.
Read below and tell us if you agree with him...

We have come to the conclusion that the only legitimate option for the government of Nigeria in the predicament of the abducted 234 Chibok girls is to entrust the decision to negotiate with the terrorists to the parents of the girls. We advise the Federal government of Nigeria to host a meeting of all affected parents for them to make a decision on what course of action Nigeria should take in handling the release of their wards. This recommendation is in the best interest of the nation and the direct victims of our failure. This decision on the next course of action is made with due consideration of the reality that the government of Nigeria, based on the history of its dealings with Boko Haram, leading up to this notable abduction, has lost the credibility to make this decision on behalf of the victims. The Nigerian civilians are the only entity endowed with the credibility, responsibility and authority to decide in this matter. In regards to giving money for the release of the girls; if the parents so decide, then so be it. There are mechanisms of controlling the impact of financed terrorists, and it is time these are enacted. Nigeria’s commonwealth goes to terrorists’ hands every day, regardless. Nigeria’s oil goddess still steals $4 million from the poor masses including the Chibok families, every day in the kerosene subsidy scam that the executive and senate leadership yet refuses to debar. If this is not money going to terror, in frank terror to the nation, then what is? Billions of dollars looted from Nigeria’s oil revenue by government officials and their cabal partners is what finances terror. Thus, giving some money to these terrorists today if the parents so decide, will be Nigeria-business as usual. We assure you that the money you give them will not affect or in any way reduce the rate at which we are going to be killing them. Boko Haram are dead. The civilians have dug their graves. In regards to prisoner swaps. We have earlier advised the Nigerian government to visit Algeria for consultation on how the Algiers government addressed their similar “Boko Haram” crises of the 90’s “Black decade.” Apart from the Algerians officially training and arming civilians to defend their neighborhoods, they decreed a conditional amnesty by which terrorists who had not been directly implicated in death or rape were released. If the Chibok parents so decide, we believe Nigeria can exchange some of those women and youth arrested who have not been directly involved in murder or rape in exchange for the girls. Those convicted of rape and murder should have long been killed. We also strongly advise you not to listen to advice from any so-called northern leaders. Many of those who shout loudest and come forward to make suggestions to the government today have lost the credibility to do so. Where were they during the four years of Boko Haram free flowing carnage? Where were they when Churches, Mosques and farming villages were destroyed across the north? We do not believe they care about these 234 girls when they hardly cared about the 40-80,000 who have been massacred. Most especially, please do not listen to certain individuals who suddenly became Boko Haram “analysts” as a French media organization referred to them. Their amazing ability to predict Boko Haram’s next moves to the letter have made them greatly suspect. It is strongly advised you steer clear from these persons. We also caution you against information and advice from foreign “partners” and the nation’s you are visiting in addressing this Nigerian situation. Please realize the hesitance of these nations, despite the Boko Haram holocaust, to declare the group a terror organization. Please notice the UN’s reluctance to do the same and to place sanctions and declare resolutions against Nigerian government officials and partners for their support and sponsorship of Boko Haram terror. Nigerians have only Nigerians to blame and to consult in these matters. We have only ourselves. Thus, we advise a meeting of the parents during which they are informed of the consequences of all decisions they take and they confer and decide what decision Nigeria should take in this matter. If they decide we use force at the risk of harm, we assure you, the civilian army is on stand-by to accompany the military to search, rescue and exterminate. It is time for the Nigerian people. By God, no girl can die or be killed by a terrorist unless it is the stipulated time of her death as decreed by God. It is time to act fast. May the Merciful Almighty have mercy on us all.

Caleb University Riot Update-School Shut Down

Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, has been shut down following students' protest which saw school properties destroyed. The protest started after an official of the school tried to stop a Muslim student from observing his prayer in the school, which is a Christian school. The VC of the school Prof. Ayo Olukoju announced yesterday that the school will be shut down temporarily but will re-open on 2nd june 2014.

Speaking to Punch about the decision, Prof Olukoju said;

“We have rules and regulations in the school and all the students agreed to abide by them. These rules are in the student handout. Before now, we have been applying appropriate sanctions against students who default in any of these rules. We wanted to enforce one of such sanctions on Wednesday before this crisis escalated. Please, the crisis has nothing to do with religion. It has nothing to do with being a Christian or a Muslim. People, especially female students even went to their worship centres on campus on Wednesday to pray after the incident. Again, I tell you this action was carried out by the male students alone.”
