President Jonathan Allegedly 'Received Video Of Missing School Girls Begging For Prisoner Swap'
A very interesting story, published recently on TelegraphUK.
According to TelegraphUK, sources close to Boko Haram told them Nigeria's president was sent a new video of the schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram in which they begged him to spare their lives through a prisoner swap. The video was said to have been handed to Goodluck Jonathan's office by an intermediary who started a dialogue with the group two weeks ago. The intermediary, a Nigerian journalist, obtained the video as a way of proving to Mr Jonathan's office that he had authentic lines of communication to Boko Haram's leaders. However, the source claimed that a subsequent deal to release the girls - planned for a week ago on Monday - was scrapped after Western governments placed pressure on Mr Jonathan not to negotiate for any prisoner swap. The deal would allegedly have seen around 50 of the girls released in exchange for an equivalent number of Boko Haram fighters currently in Nigerian jails. The Nigerian government has denied that any deal was on the table, and has so far neither confirmed nor denied the existence of the video. Claims of the video's existence surfaced as Nigeria's Chief of Defence Staff claimed that the military now knew where the girls were located. Speaking on Monday, Staff Air Marshal Alex Badeh, described it as "good news for the parents" but said that the military would not risk "going there with force". However, he declined to give specific details, raising speculation about the accuracy of his claims. The Nigerian military has made several unsubstantiated statements in the past over the girls, including a claim last week that it had been tracking them ever since they were kidnapped in mid-April. The Nigerian journalist who is said to have obtained the latest video was named by the source as Ahmed Salkida, who is from the north-east state of Borno, which is Boko Haram's main stronghold. His contacts with the group have been so close that on past occasions he has been arrested on suspicion of being a sympathiser, and two years ago he moved with his family to Dubai. However, around four weeks ago, the Nigerian government agreed for him to come back to Nigeria to see if he could assist in negotiating for the girls' freedom. He and a trusted cleric then risked their lives by heading up into the remote bushland areas where the group operate, meeting a senior assistant of Boko Haram's leader, Abubakar Shekau. The source said: "The government said to the intermediary to prove himself to show whether he was capable of brokering a deal or not, and insisted that he should obtain proof of life of the hostages. So during his talks with the insurgents, he obtained a DVD which had clips of girls being interviewed by members of the group, in which they asked President Jonathan to do a prisoner swap to get them freed. That DVD was shown to the government, and a deal was arranged so that the girls would have been released a week ago on Monday, but at last minute the government backed out." Ahmad The precise reasons for the government's alleged change of mind were not known, said the source. But he pointed out that the weekend before the proposed release date, Mr Jonathan was at the summit to discuss the Boko Haram crisis in Paris, also attended by British and American officials as well as the governments of Niger, Cameroon and Mali. The source continued: "The Nigerian government got a lot of offers of co-operation by neighbouring countries at the summit, and I think that emboldened them against negotiations. They also seem to be afraid that if they do a prisoner swap, they will lose the support of the West." As a result, the source said, the negotiations had now "crashed", with Mr Salkida returning to Dubai. The DVD remains in the possession of the Nigerian government and has not been released publicly. The source added that a separate effort at mediation was now underway via Nigeria's former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, who stepped down in 2007 and was involved in a round of previous peace talks with the group in 2011-12. Mr Obasanjo is understood to have held a meeting in recent days with clerics at his country residence outside Lagos to explore new channels of dialogue. "Mr Obasanjo is very worried that this kidnapping is casting Nigeria in a bad light, and is also uncomfortable with Nigeria inviting other outside nations to assist. The plan is to get the girls freed in exchange for some Boko Haram suspects who have been put in jail but never actually brought for trial before a court," said the source.

Kalu further said the suspects would be charged to court after investigation.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the hideout is operated as a pub to ward off suspicion by the public and operators of the spot who have been making brisk business in the last two years, employ thugs who stand sentry at the gate and collect fees from those willing to be exposed to the illicit sexual activities at the hideout. Blame Opposition For Insecurity in Nigeria-Maku
Nigeria's Minister of Information, Labaran Maku yesterday May 28th said Nigerians should blame the opposition political parties for the rising security challenges Nigeria is facing.
The minister said this while addressing newsmen after the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja
"If you go back to the #bringbackourgirls campaign, 90% of those organizing it belong to a political party. Has the media ever analyzed this? And yet the insurgency is operating only in states controlled by that party. The entire money we are spending is to maintain security in the states operated by that party, so why go out and start playing politics? We are busy spending money to maintain security in those states, what have they done about it? Because 90% of all the insurgency is in those states controlled by that political party, 90% of those campaigning to bring back the girls are members of that party. Because the media would look the other way. I think if we want this country to grow, we must ask the relevant questions" he said.

Nothing is Wrong in Making A 30 Year Old A Minister GEJ
President Jonathan while answering questions at an interactive session marking Democracy Day at the International Conference center, said he has no reservations about appointing a youth as a Minister but said the elders must be around to guide the youth in carrying out the responsibilities of a Minister.
He said young people need the experiences of the elders to pilot the affairs of Nigeria.
"You talk about mentors. I'm not saying youths cannot do certain jobs. anybody from the age of 25 and above can do any job. I remember when Rivers state was created, I was a Rivers man before Bayelsa state was created. The first Rivers state Military Governor Diete Spiff was about 28years old when he was appointed the military Governor of Rivers state. Gowon when he became Head of State was about 33years old so my Governor and the Head of State were youths but they worked with elders because I remember the cabinet members of Rivers state then were very matured people working with Diete Spiff and that is why I remember one of our elders, Maitama Sule when he was speaking at the University of Port Harcourt, made the statement that young breed without the old breed will breed greed so you must mix. The best person to take care of a child may not be a child so you need somebody with some level of experience to mentor the youths. You cannot leave the teenagers there to get into the youth age before you mentor them. Start from them and the first person to mentor a young person is someone that has made some mistakes. Let us say a young lady, while in secondary school have affairs with a man and gets pregnant and had complications and couldn't graduate when her colleagues graduated. Along the line, she finds her path and goes back to the secondary school, completes her University. She can tell another young girl look this is my experience. Please don't go that way, see this is my experience. So a Minister of Youth development can be a very young person, anybody of 25years and above can manage that but the key thing is that in the cabinet we have only one youth. There is nothing wrong in making a 30-33 years a Minister of Petroleum or Finance if you are competent."

Teacher Who Defiled Minor Says One Made Passes At Him
A 38 year old nursery school teacher who was arrested yesterday for defiling three minors says he's not to blame so much because one of the minors made passes at him. Olayinka Oluwadare Folarin, (pictured above) took the young girls to the school toilet where he sexually molested them. Speaking during his interrogation yesterday, the paedoaphile said a little girl was the first to make a pass at him "One of them made advances at me. You know how children play with you in a funny way.
This thing is beyond me.” he said Mr Folarin, who has been arrested before for molesting children, said he believes he's under some demonic attack that pushes him to commit the act and so shouldn't be judged "I have been doing this for a long time. I feel terribly bad each time I did it but I could not stop it. Why don’t you find a way of helping me. Is this meant to expose me? Some people should just think and reason with me. The person who has not sinned before should cast the first stone. If God did not forsake some people, I know he would not forsake me. I am a changed person now.” Continue...
On how he carried out his evil act, Folarin said he would invite the little girls into the toilet, place them on the wash hand basin, lubricate their vagina with his hair cream, fondle them but says he never penetrated them with his manhood, a claim the police is refuting because medical examination on the little girls show their hymen was not intact. "I never penetrated them.
I only used my manhood to rub their private parts. Yes, I used my hair cream to lubricate my organ to stimulate myself.”. Oyo state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Olabisi Okuwobi‑Ilobanafor while confirming the incident said: “The suspect had engaged in multiple defilement and all the victims said the same thing that he always abused them twice a week since last year. The third girl was lured by the suspect to cover his illicit affairs.
The third girl he abused saw a note he wrote to one of the two girls when she was sweeping the floor and asked what was happening. The teacher then collected the paper; for fear of being exposed, he recruited her into the group" she said Due to the seriousness of his crime, Folarin would be transferred to the state Police headquarters where further investigations would be carried out.

The Only Nigerian Journalist With Access To Boko Haram Flown Home To Negotiate With Group
Nigerian journalist, Ahmad Salkida, who previously worked for Daily Trust and Premium Times and reported extensively on Boko Haram, fled Nigeria to Dubai 2 years ago after being accused of being a Boko Haram sympathizer. He said he fled after 'his life and that of his family became endangered' after security agencies began to mistake his in-depth reporting on the terrorist group as evidence of his closeness to them. He went underground for several weeks before finally fleeing Nigeria. Salkida was perhaps the only Nigerian journalist/civilian to have access to Boko Haram, and he said at the time that he'd turned down Boko Haram's many requests for him to publish exclusive interviews and materials for them. Anyway according to new reports, the Nigerian government flew him back home a few weeks ago to negotiate with Boko Haram on their behalf, since he's the only civilian who has allegedly seen Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau and come out alive.
From UK Daily Mail One hundred non-combatant, low-level sympathisers were to be freed and the two groups brought together in a convoy of buses accompanied by a hand-picked go-between, respected Nigerian journalist Ahmad Salkida. The plan had been agreed in tortuous negotiations in response to worldwide outrage over a night-time raid on a school in the town of Chibok on April 14 when the girls were abducted from their dormitories. Mr Salkida was born in Borno State, where Boko Haram originated. He has known its leaders all his life and has unprecedented access. He has been arrested on several occasions accused of being a Boko Haram sympathiser, and he fled with his family to Dubai two years ago. But two weeks ago, he was summoned out of exile by President Jonathan’s aides. He initially feared he might face arrest, but was then given a letter of indemnity signed by the President when he flew to Nigeria. Sources said Mr Salkida was able to travel by taxi to the group’s forest camp to talk to Shekau two weeks ago. ‘His mission was secretive and dangerous,’ they said. He is probably the only civilian with access to Shekau. There is trust between them and Salkida had only one aim – to get the schoolgirls out. He reported afterwards that the group of girls he saw were alive and well, and being adequately fed and sheltered. They told him all they wanted was to go home. Salkida’s mission was complicated by the chaos surrounding government’s pronouncements about negotiations with the terrorist group. Shekau has released two shocking videos showing the girls dressed in hijabs and reciting verses from the Koran.
