Boy killed in kaduna during Fight over Pres Jonathan's Billboard

A teenage boy has been killed in a row over a campaign billboard of President Goodluck Jonathan in Zangon Aya, Igabi local government of Kaduna State. Sama’ila Umar was stabbed in the back and later fell down a deep well after a brief argument over the erection of Jonathan’s billboard in the town.

Police confirmed the incident and said one Mohammed Suleiman was arrested. A source in Zangon Aya told Weekly Trust yesterday that the incident happened on Thursday at about 7pm. He said:

“Mohammed Suleiman came with posters of the president and was looking for a spot to erect a giant billboard. The deceased, Umar, told him not to place any poster or erect a campaign billboard in the town because the area was the stronghold of the opposition party and billboard might be damaged.”
The source said Suleiman refused to heed the advice and was angered when Umar kept pleading with
him over the matter.

“He brought out a knife and stabbed Umar and chased him.  Umar is from the nearby Kadaugi village and was not familiar with the area and he fell into a well.” His corpse was removed and buried.
Tension swelled in the town following the incident but extra policemen were deployed before the situation got out of hand.

Suleiman was said to be a relative of a popular politician in the area and an aide to Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero. Police spokesman deputy superintendent Zubairu Abubakar said Suleiman was arrested and investigation is ongoing and homicide charges may be pressed against the suspect.

"I have slept with 3,000 men"- woman confessed

Until the age of 28, Marie Calvert had only ever had sex with one man, her husband Barry.
Then she took up swinging and everything changed. The body count went from 1 to 3,000. In fact, she claims that one night, she slept with 14 men. Marie, now 63, tells her epic story below...

It was the night I slept with 14 men that I first started to try to work out how many partners I’ve been with. The truth is, I’m not sure.
My conservative estimate is about 100 guys a year for more than three decades. I’m 63 now and I’ve slowed down a little – but only a little.

Why do I do it?
Having sex isn’t something I do for a living, but it is my passion. It’s the most enjoyable, exhilarating, satisfying way to spend your time. Some women like yoga, some like badminton. I like carnality.
I am actually married. Barry and I have been together since I was 15 – we wed when I was 19, have two grandchildren, and he’s my world. But neither of us puts sex on a pedestal. We see it for what it is: separate from love. It’s not natural to stick with one sexual partner for 60 years.
Life is about experimenting and experiencing, and that’s what we do. Barry goes with other women.
I don’t get jealous because I know he loves me.

Until the age of 28, I’d only been with him and we had a terrific sex life, but one day he brought home a swingers’ magazine he’d picked up from a workmate. He sort of joked we should try it; I told him not to be daft, and he never mentioned it again. But I kept looking at the mag and imagining how fun it might be. Eventually I told him we should give it a go. He looked like a kid at Christmas.

The first couple we met – through the listings in that magazine – were university lecturers in their 40s, and I still remember driving to their home that Friday.
Barry stopped the car and said, “Are we sure about this?” We were so nervous, but we were also insanely excited. I said we’d try it once and see how it went. And it went…
joyously.
As soon as we met them I was flirting with the guy. John was sophisticated and handsome, and over dinner there was this intense chemistry.
Afterwards, there were a few minutes when just he and I were in the living room, and I thought it was now or never so I kissed him, and that was that. By the time Barry came in with John’s wife, we were otherwise engaged. I remember looking at Barry’s face and seeing a big smile come over it; I knew everything would be fine, and that life had changed for ever.

We became committed swingers, spending weekends meeting up with couples or going to parties to swap partners.
Suddenly everything was exciting. You’d be at work, and you’d think about what you were up to that evening and it sent a shiver down your spine. Some couples – like John and his wife – would become close friends, even when the sex stopped. Others you’d see only once.
The night I slept with 14 men was at a swingers’ party in Manchester.
I remember driving there feeling almost uncontrollably lustful. The next day I felt achy, in that lovely way, like when you’ve been to the gym. In 1997, we decided to open a swingers’ club in Sheffield.

We were fed up with work and wanted to do something we were passionate about. It’s still thriving today. We never have sex during opening hours – it’s our business and we’re professional about it. But, of course, when the place shuts, we’ve got an entire club full of facilities – and an ever-growing circle of open-minded couples – to play with. It’s not all been perfect, of course. Not every lover is attentive.
I remember in my 40s going with an 18-year-old, just to see what it would be like. Quick was the answer. We’re safety-conscious and I’ve never felt in any danger.
Barry is normally in the same room or not far away.
I’ve recently had a knee operation, which means I’m walking with a stick, so I’m taking it easy.
I had only three lovers last year.
I still have the same sex drive but I’m more relaxed now.
I’m not someone who’s ever going to dress like a woman half her age just to get attention.
But if guys still find me attractive – well, why not? People ask if we have any regrets and we do – we wish we’d found that mag five or six years earlier.

Nigerian woman gangraped in a moving car in India

Police in Delhi arrested four men on Friday in connection with the alleged gangrape of a Nigerian woman in a moving car, the latest in a series of sex attacks in the Indian capital.

The 35-year-old, who has been staying in India on a tourist visa, told police the men kidnapped her after midnight on Friday morning outside a popular shopping mall in New Delhi’s Saket area before bundling her into a car.
They then drove for around half an hour, during which time the alleged gangrape took place, before pushing her out of the vehicle.

The woman, who cannot be named, was finally rescued after a passerby spotted her on the side of the road in Mayur Vihar, around 20 kilometres (12 miles) away in east Delhi.

“We have received a complaint from the woman and investigations are ongoing,” Delhi police spokesman Rajan Bhagat told AFP.

“We have filed a case under relevant sections.” Bhagat said the four men arrested were Indians, and the car allegedly used had been impounded.

Local media, quoting police sources, said the victim was in an inebriated condition at the time of her rescue and had suffered minor injuries but was released from hospital by Friday afternoon.

Girlfriend arrested for trying to bite off his man's penis as he slept(photos)

A man woke up to discover his girlfriend trying to bite off his penis after a lovers' quarrel.
The victim’s girlfriend, Amber Ellis, 31, was arrested on charges of maiming and assault with a dangerous weapon in connection to the near-dismemberment.

Her unfortunate boyfriend, who has not been named, was rushed to a hospital were doctors were able to stitch up his mauled genitals.

According to a police report cited by the local station KJRH, the man said he and Ms Ellis were out drinking Wednesday night, and on the way home they got into an argument 'about how needy she had become.

' The couple continued trading verbal jabs upon returning to their apartment  until finally the 31-year-old woman stormed off to the bedroom and shut the door behind her. Her boyfriend, who was described in the report as an amputee, dozed off on the couch in the living room.

In the early hours of Thursday morning, the man was awakened by the sensation of teeth chomping on his privates.
The man was able to fight Ellis off, but the scorned girlfriend, who stands at 5 feet 8 inches and weighs 120lbs, allegedly slammed him in the head with a laptop computer.

The injured boyfriend was taken to St John's Medical Center, where he received four or five stitches to the base of his manhood.

Businessman Assassinated on Orders of his Bestfriend

The circumstances surrounding the gruesome murder of Tony Eze, a 39-year-old International businessman based in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, have been unravelled by detectives attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The late Eze, from Umuagede village in Nsukka L.G.A. of Enugu State met his untimely death after a night out with friends, including a kinsman from Eha-Alumonah in Enugu State (name withheld).

EYEWITNESS ACCOUNT
Eyewitness account said he was shot dead by two young men on a motor bike who closed in on him while he was trying to avoid a porthole, just a few meters away from the refreshment garden at Tungama area of Zuba in the outskirts of Abuja. He had gone to the garden for conviviality with friends.

It was learnt that on the fateful day, November 6, 2014, the father of two was about closing for the day’s business when his kinsman and best friend called to request that they go out for drinks at Zuba.
He was said to have initially hesitated before reluctantly agreeing to be at the refreshment garden in the evening.

IN THE LIONS’S DEN
He reportedly left his shop about 5pm and got to the garden where he met three of his friends already seated and enjoying drinks.

Crime Guard gathered that about 7:20pm, they all set to leave, moving in a convoy, with his best friend and kinsman driving the car in front. Eze was the last to join before he was blocked and shot dead inside his car.

SYMPATHIZERS ARRIVE SCENE OF DEATH
After the owner of the garden and other sympathizers gathered at the scene, his friends reportedly drove back claiming that they heard a bang at their back but thought that Eze must have hit something and that was why they continued without him.

ABANDONMENT
Reports said that even after the arrival of his friends at the scene, no serious efforts were made to either take him to the hospital or contact the police at Zuba.
Policemen arrived the scene around 11pm and all efforts made to revive Eze in the hospital failed.
One of the doctors was said to have reprimanded his friends for not rushing him to the nearest hospital immediately they arrived the scene, saying that he could have survived the gun shots if he had been given immediate medical attention.

SARS AND PRIVATE EYE TO THE RESCUE
Nevertheless, it was gathered that police detectives of SARS swung into action after it was noticed that the police at Zuba were lukewarm over the ugly incident.

Police sources said their efforts were complemented by those of a Lagos-based private detectives hired by members of the family of the deceased. According to the source:
‘’While we were combing all the nook and cranny of Abuja for clues, the private detectives were busy spreading dragnets all over the country and even beyond, where the deceased had business partners.

BREAKTHROUGH AT LAST
“A startling breakthrough came few weeks back after the private detectives succeeded in arresting a suspect in possession of the phone of the deceased which was the only item his assailants disappeared with after the incident.

The suspect turned out to be in the same Aluminium Market where late Eze had his shop. We drilled him for long hours until he capitulated and started confessing how they killed the innocent young man.”

CONFESSIONS GALORE
According to him, two people came to engage their services for the job in their cult group.
He gave a detailed description of them and one of the descriptions tallied with that of the late businessman’s best friend and kinsman who also had business in the same market with him.
The suspect said that when they asked those that came to hire them why they wanted the man dead, they said he had been importing goods from abroad and needed to be silenced.
They were paid N1.2million, some of them got N250,000 while others got N300,000 each.”

HOW OPERATION WAS EXECUTED
Giving a vivid account of how they carried out the operation on the day in question, the suspect said some of them arrived the restaurant earlier than the deceased and sat by a table near where he later sat with his best friend who hired them.

‘He said that as soon as they were ready to go, his friend winked at them at the nearby table and they used their telephone to flash their colleagues who were positioned outside the area as a signal that they should proceed to hit their target.
He further said they were told that he would be coming in a car behind. So, his friend quickly drove off in front with the deceased following behind and when they got to the point where they had to join the expressway, the friend in front drove faster.
As soon as his friend entered the expressway two of the hired killers blocked the businessman’s car and one of them just pulled out his gun, approached the driver’s side and yanked open the door.
While Eze was passionately pleading with them to take whatever they needed and spare his life, the armed man shot him point blank, picked his phone and sped off.

’’ Police sources also hinted that after the arrest of five of the suspects at the popular Aluminium Market, Abuja, his best friend confessed during interrogation that the deceased gave him N5million to exchange for him around October 2014, and he was yet to pay him back before he was killed.
It was learnt that initially, he wanted to be smart by diverting the attention of detectives to focus their searchlight on one of the brothers to the deceased but when he learnt that one of the killers had confessed to the crime, he withdrew his allegation.

Sources said detectives were still searching for the second person that hired the killers together with the best friend to the deceased and would soon arrest him.

FAMILY REACTS
Family sources told Crime Guard that the arrest of their son’s supposed best friend over his death sent shock waves all over the community.

According to a member of the family who simply identified himself as Simon( 45) :

‘’ This is the greatest shock we have received in our area in recent times. That suspect is well known to all of us as Tony’s best friend.
They used to travel together to China on business trips. In fact, he was closer to our brother than anybody in the family.
Whenever we needed to advise our brother, we usually channelled it through this his friend who happens to come from Eha-Alumonah Community, a neighbouring town in Nsukka.
Interestingly, this his friend was leading pallbearers during Tony’s burial. He was the first to arrive our compound before other of his friends and business partners arrived. He was shedding tears uncontrollably.
Even after the burial, his wife prepared our traditional food for the bereaved family which friends usually partake in.
I can remember vividly that a few days after Tony’s burial, the suspect told some members of our family that he (the deceased) owed some business associates a whooping sum of N12 million and there was urgent need to settle the debt but we swept it aside by telling him that it could come up after the mourning period.
I will use this opportunity to thank the Nigeria Police Force and the private detectives for the success recorded so far because these startling confessions and arrests will go a long way to assuage our deep feeling of loss.

(In tears) Now see, for how much did they take the precious life of this young, amiable, promising and easy-going young man? Who will train his children and take care of his young wife?

PROBABLE MOTIVE
Crime Guard further gathered that detectives were working on the theory that his best friend was envious of his progress and the boom in his business and hatched the plan not just to eliminate him but also to stop him from asking for the whooping N5million he gave him to change last October.

So far, it was learnt that both the suspect that confessed to the killing and the deceased best friend were taken separately to the scene of the crime and they pointed out correctly the table where they sat and the point where Eze was intercepted and killed.

Buhari promises to publicly declare assets if voted into office

The All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate in the March 28 election, Muhammadu Buhari, has pledged to publicly declare his assets and liabilities, once voted into office, adding that he would go ahead to encourage political appointees in his administration to toe same line.

Buhari made this known in a document obtained by Punch in Abuja on Thursday where he highlighted what his administration will do within its first 100 days, if he assumes power on May 29.

In the said document titled, “I pledge to Nigeria” the APC flag bearer further held that all his political appointees would only earn salaries and allowances as prescribed by the Revenue and Mobilisation and Fiscal Allocation Commission.

Should the APC candidate win the election and abide by his pledge, he would be the second Nigerian president to publicly declare his assets after late President Umaru Yar’Adua, also from Katsina State, who remains the first and only Nigerian leader to have publicly declared his assets upon assumption of office.

The late President’s action at the time led his then deputy, now President Goodluck Jonathan, to equally make his assets declaration forms available to the public.

But after becoming a substantive president in 2011, he refused to make his assets declaration forms available to the public, explaining that he did that when he was serving as deputy to Yar’Adua.

When asked during one of his media chats whether he would consider declaring his assets publicity, the President refused, declaring that he does not give a damn about the issue.

However, Buhari, in the document pledged to “publicly declare my assets and liabilities, encourage all my appointees to publicity declare their assets and liabilities as a pre-condition for appointment.

“All political appointees will only earn the salaries and allowances determined by the RMFAC.”

The APC flag bearer, while pledging to personally lead the war against corruption in the country, went on to assure that he would inaugurate the National Council on Procurement as stipulated in the Procurement Act.

Lamenting that the Federal Executive Council, FEC, had been turned to a weekly session of contract bazaar, he promised to make the FEC concentrate on its principal function of policy making.

Buhari, who is a former head of state, further declared that he would collaborate with members of the National Assembly towards the immediate enactment of a Whistle Blower Act. He added that his government would work with the leadership of the National Assembly and the judiciary to cut down the cost of governance.

He spoke on the other ways he would go about strengthening the anti-graft war thus, “We will work with the National Assembly to strengthen the Independent Corruption Practices and other related Offences Commission and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission by guaranteeing institutional autonomy, including financial and prosecutorial independence and security of tenure of officials.

“We will also make the Financial Intelligence Unit of the EFCC autonomous and operational; encourage proactive disclosure of information by government institutions in the spirit of the Freedom of Information Act.”

On what the former military ruler would do to tackle insurgency and insecurity in the country, he noted that considering that he had had the rare privilege of serving the country in the military in various capacities and rose to the rank of a major general and Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces, he would defend the integrity of the nation.

“I pledge, as Commander-in-Chief, to lead from the front and not behind in the comfort and security of Aso Rock, to boost the morale of fighting forces and the generality of all Nigerians,” he said.

As regards the abducted Chibok girls, Buhari said that as a father, he had been feeling the pain of the victims of insurgency, kidnapping and violence whether “they are widows and orphans of the military, paramilitary, civilians and parents or the Chibok girls.

New York City goes without murder for 12 days

So for 12 days no one was killed in New York City and New Yorkers are happy about it and reporting it. It's a modern day record.

Read the report from CNN below..
New York City's longest recorded homicide-free streak ended late Friday night, when a 28-year-old man was shot multiple times just before midnight.
Eric Roman was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition with gunshot wounds to his head, hand and leg and died Saturday, according to the NYPD. New York City had gone 12 days without a homicide, its longest stretch on modern record, police said yesterday Monday.

The last reported homicide was February 1, Super Bowl Sunday, in Upper Manhattan, police said. That day, police responded to a 911 call about multiple shots being fired and found five individuals with gunshot wounds, the NYPD said.
One of those five, Graham Shadale, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not yet made arrests in either case and both investigations are ongoing, officials said.
The streak has been the longest since the New York Police Department began recording statistics with a computerized program called Compstat in 1994, a police representative said.

Police Commissioner Bill Bratton hushed talk of the streak Friday on "CBS This Morning." "Shh ... we don't want to jinx it," Bratton told host Charlie Rose. "We're into our 12th day now, Charlie. Eleven is a record and let's keep it going.

" Despite the record-breaking streak, there has been an uptick in shooting incidents compared with the same time period last year.

The week between February 1 and February 8 experienced 110 shooting incidents in 2015 versus 91 in 2014, according to Detective Cheryl Crispin of the NYPD public information office.

New York City's last record for a streak of days without a homicide was 10 days. In 2014, there were no recorded homicides between February 13 and February 22.

Lawyer Arraigned For N117m Fraud

Find the EFCC press statement below...
A legal practitioner, Barrister Babatunde Ojo, was on Monday, February 16, 2015 arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC before Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye of the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, on a 48-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence, forgery and issuance of dud cheques.

Ojo allegedly used his company, Amberville Communications Limited, to obtain the sum of N117, 350, 000.00 (One Hundred and Seventeen Million, Three Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) from Mr. and Mrs. Mathew Awodiya of First Hebron Homes and Investment Limited in the guise of allocating 50 shops at HFP Eastline Shopping Complex, Ajah, Lagos, to them.

The victim was allegedly linked to Ojo by one of the directors of the Shopping Complex. He was told that, the amount per shop was N4, 000,000 (Four Million Naira only) , with Fifty (50) shops, costing N200, 000,000 (Two Hundred Million Naira only).
The victim negotiated for 50 shops but paid a deposit of N117, 350, 000.00 (One Hundred and Seventeen Million, Three Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira). However, the director that linked the victim with Ojo later denied knowledge of any transaction for sale of shops with the suspect, and invariably debunked claims of having received payment from the suspect. All efforts to get a refund of the money paid for the shops proved abortive. One of the charges read:
“Babatunde Ojo and Amberville Communications Limited, on or about the 13th day of April, 2010 at Lagos within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of N15, 000,000 (Fifteen Million Naira) from Awodiya Olusegun Mathew under the false pretence that the money was part payment for purchase of fifty (50) shops from HFP Engineering Limited at HFP Eastline Shopping Complex, KM 26, Epe Expressway, Ajah, which representation you knew to be false”.

When the charges were read to the accused person, he pleaded not guilty. Prosecuting counsel, Vera Agboje prayed the court for a trial date and that the defendant be remanded in prison custody.
However, defence counsel, R. U. Nnamani urged the court to allow her present application for bail at the next adjourned date and applied that the suspect be remanded in EFCC custody.

Justice Ipaye, however, ordered that the defendant be remanded in Kirikiri Maximum prison and adjourned the matter till March, 18 and 19, 2015 for trial.

ISIS's trade in human organs exposed as doctors are executed for non- compliance

Iraq has urged the United Nations to investigate Islamic State terrorists' bloody trade in human organs after the Iraqi ambassador said doctors are being executed for not harvesting body parts.

Mohamed Alhakim claimed that dozens of bodies with surgical incisions and missing body parts have been found in shallow mass graves near ISIS stronghold Mosul over the past few weeks.
ISIS' horrifying trade in human organs, which was revealed by MailOnline last December, is just the latest way for the terrorist organisation to finance its activities, with other major sources of the group's $2 million-a-day income being the sale of oil, ransom payments, and smuggled antiques.

Speaking of ISIS' organ harvesting operations, Mr Alhakim said: 'We have bodies. Come and examine them. It is clear they are missing certain parts.

' He also said a dozen doctors have been 'executed' in Mosul for refusing to participate in organ harvesting. The al-Monitor report also claims the terror organisation has even set up a specialist organ-smuggling division whose sole responsibility is to sell human hearts, livers and kidneys on the lucrative international black market.

'[Al-Mosuli] said that lately he noticed unusual movement within medical facilities in Mosul Arab and foreign surgeons were hired, but prohibited from mixing with local doctors,' the report's author wrote. 'Information then leaked about organ selling.

' The report went on : 'Surgeries take place within a hospital and organs are quickly transported through networks specialized in trafficking human organs. Mosuli said that the organs come from fallen fighters who were quickly transported to the hospital, injured people who were abandoned or individuals who were kidnapped.'

Unemployed Mexican faked own kidnapping so wife would pay him the $450 ransom(photos)

An unemployed Mexican builder faked his own kidnapping so his wife would pay his $450 ransom. Eliot Garrido Guido, 36, from Mexico City enlisted the help of his friend Carlos Amilcar Martinez Reyes, 42, to stage the kidnapping and take photographs of him tied up an gagged. Mexican authorities believe that Guido was embarrassed that his banker wife earned more money than him so worked on his devious plan.
Reyes brought his friend to a derelict house, tied him up, sat him on a stool and took photographs of him as part of the fake kidnap plot.

According to Mailonline, one of the photographs showed Guido with blood on his white tee shirt and with a gag over his mouth, while the second showed him in the same position but with a hood over his head.
The images were uploaded to Guido's Facebook account, with the claim that the unemployed builder had been moved 900 miles away.

According to the wife: ' When I saw the message and the photos I couldn’t believe what was happening. The kidnappers had demanded 7,000 Pesos ($450), and said my husband was being tortured.
They said they would kill him if I didn’t pay up.I was seriously worried but when I contacted them they said I should leave the money at an address in Mexico City.I asked them why I should do that if they were in Playa del Carmen, and they just said do it.But it didn’t make sense so I contacted the police.

' When police arrived and examined the message they quickly discovered it had been sent from nearby after spotting the message’s location identifier. A police spokesman said:
'We found them in a house about 300 metres away. They both confessed and were arrested on the spot. The men now face five years in jail.

Mum allegedly kills her 10 year old son to save him from embarrassment over 'big ears'(photo)

A mum who allegedly throttled her 10-year-old son to death because she thought his big ears were ruining his life is facing murder charges in Turkey.Nuray Sacan, 37, had paid for the boy to have cosmetic surgery in Gazi Hospital in the capital Ankara, but when she turned up after the operation she told surgeons she was unhappy with the results.

It's claimed she took the youngster to the women's toilet in the hospital in the early hours of the morning and choked him to death with her own scarf. She was caught when she fled the hospital in her car but hit another vehicle. Sacan confessed to the killing while she was being taken back to hospital in an ambulance. The mum told police later:
"Both his ears had become even bigger after the surgery. He became very ugly. He would have felt even more ashamed in front of his friends.
I did it to save him such embarrassment.
I was trying to protect him from a lifetime of pain.

" She claimed she had paid for the surgery because her son had suffered years of bullying and teasing because of his sticking out ears. But surgeon Dr Metin Yilmaz - who carried out the op - said:
"I am astonished she would think that. The operation was a simple one and it was a complete success. There were no post-operative issues and he was due to go home.

"We can't understand it. The boy's mother did not seem to have any psychological problems and the operation went perfectly."

Woman rescued from her sinking car after driving off a cliff

A woman is counting her stars after being saved from her sinking BMW.The terrified woman drove her car off a rock wall of a car park into a harbour and began sinking at a frightening speed.

According to Daily Mail, the incident which happened at Waitemata Harbour in Auckland was witnessed by passerbys who called emergency services as quick-thinking policemen arrived and sprung straight into action by jumping into the water. Unable to open the doors as the woman gradually lost her breathe ,the officers and a bystander used a rock and managed to shatter the rear window. The relieved woman was then pulled to safety by the two heroic policemen.

The two officers who saved the woman's life - Paul Watts and Simon Russell - have described the dangerous rescue, and revealed they believe she could have been less than a minute away from drowning.

'When we entered the water, I was talking to one of the (members of the public) who was trying to balance the vehicle and he said he was looking for a rock to try and smash the window,' Mr Russell told the New Zealand Herald.

'At that time the car actually started to move very fast into the water. I was trying to hold the car, slowing it down from entering the water,' Mr Russell said.  Mr Watts and Mr Russell then managed to pull the woman from the car to safety, but said they got her out just in time.

'It was pretty close, probably 30 or 40 seconds after we managed to get the female out of the car, the car was already slipping further into the water,''I'd say she'd probably only had maximum probably another minute, minute-and-a-half if she hadn't got out,'
