Man tears neighbour’s manhood over potty

It was a simple household scuffle, which degenerated into fisticuffs. But when 24-year-old Okechukwu Chiagba woke up that day, he did not imagine that he would nearly lose his manhood over something as mundane as a potty.
But that was exactly what happened when he engaged in a scuffle with his neighbour, 41-year-old Michael Essien, a Calabar, Cross River State indigene, over accusation of using a potty without permission.
But by the time the dust settled, Chiagba had sustained a gory tear in his manhood that put him in the hospital for more than one week.
He explained to Saturday PUNCH that the incident that led to his injury began at 6am that day in the apartment building in which he lived with his wife (what is called face-me-I-face-you) in Shasha, Egbeda Lagos.
Chiagba said, “That night, my wife went out to use the toilet. We normally use potties. But when she got to where she put her potty, she could not find it.
“She came back to ask me but I told him I had not seen it. She went outside to look for it and that was when she saw our neighbour (Essien) coming out of the toilet with it.
“My wife came back to report to me. I was preparing to go out and challenge the man for using my wife’s potty when my wife cautioned me not to go. She said she would prefer to go and meet the man’s wife and talk to her. I agreed and let the matter go.”

Policemen flee as robbers kill bank manager, guards, others in Ekiti

Robbers invaded Otun-Ekiti in Moba Local Government Area of Ekiti State on Thursday, killing four residents during attacks on two banks.
It was learnt that policemen at the scene fled from the firepower of the robbers, who operated in the town for over an hour.
During the attack, the manager and a cashier of Heritage Bank, a security man at Unity Bank and a guard of the town’s monarch, Oba Adedapo Popoola, were killed.
Our correspondent gathered that the security man was to get married in two weeks before he met his untimely death.
The Oore of Otun, Oba Popoola, said the attack came like a war on the community with gunshots and explosives going off all over the town.
“I was relaxing with my chiefs in front of the palace around 6pm on Thursday when we heard what first sounded like some fireworks and we dismissed it as some of the children’s antics as a result of the festive period. But later, we heard louder sounds that resembled gunshots and explosives. That was when we realised it was no child’s play.

SUPER Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi has assured that they will win the battle of Uyo as they confront Algeria Desert Foxes in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo today.
“We all know what this match means, why we have to give every- thing. Yes, we started the race well by winning in Zambia, but we have to approach this match even more seriously. The Algerians will come with determination and they will play hard, but we will play harder.
“The World Cup is the biggest stage; every player wants to be there. I am happy we have such a young and energetic team. I played at the World Cup in Brazil in 2014 but there are many of these players who have never been to the World Cup. They want to be there.”
Both teams know that a victory could put them in a pole position of taking command of group B, after the Super Eagles defeated the Chipolopolo of Zambia 2-1 in Ndola to top the table with three points while Algeria were held 1-1 by Cameroon in Algiers to remain on one point apiece.
Nodoubt, the encounter would give Super Eagles technical adviser, Genort Rohr another opportunity
to sink his name into the hearts of football lovers in Nigeria, having started his managerial career with the team on a winning note; first against Tanzania and then Zambia.
There is no doubt that both teams parade some of the best of players in Africa.
Indeed, the Super Eagles will be counting on the services of Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, Odion Ighalo, Mikel Obi and Victor Moses to shoul- der the goal scoring responsibility against the Algerian side.
Meanwhile, Eagles Captain, Mikel John Obi has assured that they would take to the pitch deter- mined to earn all three points.

Lagos bizman commits suicide over debt, failed home

hang-rope-suicide

A Lagos businessman in his late 60s, James Oriri, was said to have allegedly committed suicide on Friday, in his office, at 393, Old Ojo Road, Satellite Town, Lagos.

Saturday Sun gathered that a large crowd besieged the four-story office complex, once the incident became public knowledge, to catch a glimpse of the man.

Oriri, it was learnt was the Managing Director of Awore Consult, a firm that claims to be an expert in educational consultancy, for people seeking admission to universities, Secondary Schools in Ghana, and to Coventry universities in the UK.

Oriri, an Isoko, from Delta State, has seven children, 6 boys and 1 girl.

According to his neighbours, one of the sons, lives in USA, while two others live in Germany and Ghana, respectively. All of them, the neighbours, continued, are all graduates.

A family member who craved anonymity, could not fathom why James would have to take his own life.

Hear him: “why should James do this kind of thing to bring shame to the family? Was he the only one owing, everybody owes; who is not owing in the first place? To owe is no more shameful”.

He further told SATURDAY SUN that the deceased was owing some people some undisclosed amount of money, which he added, was less than N2m.

“His brothers had called the people he owed and pleaded with them to give them, till say by the end of the month, to settle the debts and the people agreed. James was aware of this arrangement?

Trump names VP, children to White House transition team By Paris - 1 hour ago

Donald Trump shook up his White House transition team Friday, putting running mate Mike Pence in charge and naming a cohort of Washington insiders — and three of his children — to help nail down picks for his future cabinet.
The reshuffle by the Republican president-elect came after thousands of angry protesters took to the streets for a second straight night, sign of the acute tensions coursing through the nation after the most divisive campaign in memory.
In Portland, a march by some 4,000 protesters turned violent, with cars vandalized and projectiles thrown at police, who used rubber bullets and pepper spray to disperse the crowd. Twenty-five people were arrested.
On Friday, the real estate tycoon-turned-world-leader was ensconced in his luxury Manhattan apartment at Trump Tower. As the aides who guided him to victory marched in to help Trump map out the way forward, he announced he was elevating Vice President-elect Mike Pence to lead the transition.
