Dangote tomato factory to resume production February

The Dangote Tomato Processing Factor in Kadawa, Kura Local Government Area of Kano State is to resume production in February.
The Managing Director of the company, Abdulkadir Kaita, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Kano.
The company, which began production in February 2016, had to suspend operation due to lack of enough raw materials.
Mr. Kaita added that preparation for production to resume was at an advanced stage.
He said the company had to suspend production, when most of the tomato farms in about five states were affected by a pest, which destroyed all the tomato species.

Contrary to media reports, Gambia’s president-elect, Adama Barrow is hale and hearty.
CBN Television, Banjul had ‎earlier reported that he was murdered by that unknown assailants who overpowered his security guards, leaving two dead and six others injured from gunshots.
However, a tweet from his official handle, @adama_barrow, ‎said he’s alive and well. “We would like to inform you that the President-elect is alive and well. #Gambia‎”, it read.
His rumoured death is coming few days after he referred to the country’s constitution that a court action taken by supposed outgoing President Yahya Jammeh cannot prevent the winner of the poll from assuming office as mandated by the constitution.

Activist lawyer, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, says a group of cabals have hijacked the Presidency owing to the alleged ill health of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Lagos based lawyer claimed that the cabal are in control of all critical national issues even to the exclusion of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.
Adegboruwa, in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Wednesday insisted that the various foreign trips of the President were a cover up for him to attend to his alleged ill health.
In the statement titled “Nigerians, Arise Now” the activist lawyer said Buhari’s illness was well known to people around him.
He,however, called on the National Assembly to save the nation from the hands of the cabals.
According to Adegboruwa, “The President is truly and truly sick, to the very point that sickness can be inferred, and this is known to many people around him, but they are denying and “padding” it because of their personal and selfish interests.

Mother fakes son's kidnap to extort N5m from husband



A mother of two has been arrested by the Department of State Security Service for allegedly kidnapping her own son and demanding a ransom of N5 million from her husband.

Security and family sources confirmed that the woman identified as Baraka, connived with one Rukayya and another accomplice who called the husband, pretending to be the kidnapper, and demanded the N5 million ransom.

Police Public Relations Officer, Asp Bitrus Noam, confirmed the incident, saying the case was with the Department of State Security Service.

A source close to the family confided in our correspondent that the woman’s husband who was left in a state of confusion and reported the case to the SSS after negotiating with the fake abductor to pay N2 million.

“He alerted the SSS after repeated calls and text massages discussing the said ransom.
