Jonathan May Nigeria's Last President

Igbo Leaders of Thought, a group of prominent Igbo political leaders, rose from a meeting in Enugu on Wednesday with a warning that President Goodluck Jonathan may become the last president of one united Nigeria, if a politician from the North-East and North-West continue to sponsor the activities of the Boko Haram sect.

The Igbo leaders maintained their belief that the terror campaign of the Boko Haram sect was an ethno/religious war being waged by unnamed northern political leaders, who seek to take control of the presidency.

Cameroonian Army Kills 60 Boko Haram Members,100 Killed in communal Clashes in Borno

MAIDUGURI-- MORE than 100 persons were killed, yesterday, in a communal clash involving three border communities in Gwoza Local Government Council of Borno State. Members of Attagara, Aghapalwa and Gwoshe border communities were said to have taken up arms against one another. It, however, turned out to be a religious war between Christians and Muslims.

It will be recalled that no fewer than nine Christian worshippers were said to have been killed last Sunday, by Islamic militants during a Sunday service in Attagara village, leaving many others critically injured. According to reports, the youths in a spontaneous reprisal attack mobilized themselves and killed 37 of them.

However, following the reprisal attacks, sources said, some Muslim youths believed that the Christian youths killed other Muslims rather than Boko Haram members, who were responsible for the death of the nine Christian worshippers as well as the burning of churches in Attagara Village.

Shocker! Army Court Finds 15 Senior Officers Guilty Of Aiding Boko Haram

Culled From Leadership Newspaper

No fewer than 15 senior military officers including 10 generals have been tried before a court-martial and found guilty of giving information and ammunition to Boko Haram terrorists. In the recent past, the Army and the Defence headquarters have raised the alarm that some of their officers and men are leaking official information to the terrorists and that some of them have been arrested and arraigned before some court-martials in some army divisions in the north. Military sources told Leadership that some of them who were tried at their division levels still have hope until the final review of the judgement at the headquarters in Abuja. “There are a lot of arrests that have been made over some officers who were sabotaging the ongoing counter-insurgency operations.

The suspects include about 10 generals and other ranks, not to talk of soldiers who have been found culpable of sabotaging our operations. They are facing trial before court-martials set up by their divisions; some have been found guilty, and some are still facing trial. Once the court martial rule, the recommendations are forwarded to the Army Headquarters or Defence Headquarters as the case may be,” a source disclosed. Another top security source told our correspondent that four senior soldiers were found guilty of being disloyal and for working for the members of the sect. “Four generals have been court-martialed for divulging high-class security information to the members of the sect. They were found guilty of leaking military strategies to the Boko Haram people. This was why many soldiers have been ambushed and killed by the Boko Haram,” the source added.

Our source who could not disclose the names of these generals simply said some senior military officers and soldiers from a particular section of the country are deeply involved in the treasonable acts. “They have been found guilty of also collaborating with some top politicians in the country to make the country ungovernable for selfish reasons. A lot of re-organisation is going on in the military. Many generals will go. Some will be court-martialed and some will be forcefully retired,” he added. “The movement of our troops in the north-east have been leaked to the Boko Haram by many of our colleagues, but the Defence headquarters has realized that and is seriously considering redeployment of some senior officers out of the north-east.” The army had, on Sept. 19, 2013, said its 3 Division had set up a general martial court to try erring officers and soldiers. During a press briefing, the then director, army public relations, Brigadier General Ibrahim Attahiru, said the new court would instil discipline and professionalism among its troops based on Army Headquarters’ directives.

The court under general commanding officer Ebiobowei Awala was inaugurated on April 22 at Rhino Officers Mess, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos, and has tried nine soldiers for various offences ranging from murder to manslaughter. But it was not clear at the time of fielding this report whether the generals were court -martialed by the same court. Although efforts to confirm from the Defence Headquarters’ spokesman, Major General Chris Olukolade, did not yield any result, a top serving general in the DHQ said a lot of trials were indeed going on: “A lot is happening.

Those suspected are being tried, and this is why it is difficult to confirm or deny the story. But whenever the final verdicts are taken on these trials, the press would be briefed by the appropriate officers.”

Dunkan Mighty is Bitter,Says Governor Amechi is Owing Him N50million,Writes An Open Letter

Received this mail from Duncan's people...

CALL TO GOVERNOR AMAECHI TO PAY ME FOR SERVICES RENDERED TO HIM AND HIS GOVERNMENT. FRIENDS NOW CALL ME A TRAITOR/SABOTUER………DUNCAN MIGHTY. It is on record that on the 30th of March 2011, I, Mr. Okechukwu Duncan Mighty single handedly organized a Celebrity Youth Endorsement Concert in Port Harcourt where I successfully endorsed over 18,000 youths who are eligible voters for the Governor Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.

During the organization of the event under the express approval of the Governor of Rivers State and his cabinet, he gave me the sum of Ten Million Naira through the then Secretary to the state Govt. Senator Magnus Abe which totally went into the project. The Governor also gave me his word that the balance of Fifty Million Naira will be paid to me as soon as possible.   In pursuit of the said project, I thereafter raised funds through different sources including personal savings, loans and credit facilities, acquired operational vehicles and branded them for the project, procured several souvenirs, printed many publicity materials, paid for venues, engaged musicians from different parts of the country, undertook logistics such as flight/Accommodation/Transportation and welfare.

The event featured the following A List artistes, comedians and many collection of Port Harcourt Artistes:  Wande Coal and the Mo. Hits Records crew   Flavour   Banky W   M.I   Ice Prince   Timaya   Stereo Man   Terry G   Jesse Jags   Dj Jimmyjatt   I go die   I go save And lots more. The project was concluded as scheduled and the results were achieved, but since then it has become almost impossible to have an audience with the Governor so as to get my balance.   I also visited the Govt House on several occasions, and all efforts to get my money proved abortive.   However, the last straw that broke the camel's back was when the governor systematically started avoiding my calls and personal visits in a bid to deprive me of the balance of the money for a job which I successfully executed.   It is also on record that I have not charged the Rivers State Government a single dime of my professional appearance fee, due to my personal reason/resolve to give back to the society which made me, starting from the government of Rivers State as a mark of honor and respect.

The rumor mills have it that the Governor of Rivers state has given me juicy contracts including all manner of flashy cars, but I stand here today to debunk such tales, because I have not received as much as a bicycle spoke from Governor Amaechi.   My love for the Ikwerre ethnic nationality, the Niger Delta project and the Nigerian dream has seen me working for virtually everything I own today because there is dignity in labour, hence I can never resort to cheap blackmail or character assassination of any person, group or association, therefore I stand to make this declaration that all I am asking for is the payment of my money, thus, this should not be seen as a political campaign of any sort.   Permit me to bring to your notice, the fact that many of his personal aids and security details have come to me severally, soliciting for financial assistance which I usually offered them without any hesitation, not knowing that they all have the notion that their boss, Governor Amaechi has been favoring me through contracts, meanwhile this is not also true.

I have tried frantically on several occasions to meet with the Governor one on one so as to resolve this issue but all to no avail.   Most recently I was invited to a dinner between the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) and the Governor of Rivers State, immediately after my performance at the said event inside government house I ran after the Governor to demand for my money in my usual way, but to my utmost bewilderment the Governor unequivocally told me point blank that I should remember that when we did that transaction he was still working with his former chief of staff, Hon. Nyesom Wike who is now the current minister of state for education. This is exactly what prompted me to take this decision of writing this article in other to recover the money which I worked to earn.
This issue also led to the problem that transpired on Friday the 23rd of may 2014 when I got to the government house gate at 8am, one of the security details named Mr. Jude rudely ordered me to park my car outside the gate, a situation which led to a scuffle and heated argument between me and the said security officer, as a result of this I subsequently held a meeting with my staff on the way forward concerning this same issue after which we agreed that we should channel the ongoing matter through the office of the chief press secretary to the governor Mr. David Iyofor, this we did and the cps after hearing the story promised to help contact the governor who happens to be his boss, but to my chagrin the chief press secretary rather stopped taking my calls up till this moment.
Prior to this time I have not played any event for the commissioners and other cabinet members due to the fact that the they thought they couldn't afford to pay my appearance fee because I was the governors favorite hence will be unaffordable to them, a predicament that I have also managed to live with, while my friends, family members, staff and fans have all concluded that I have betrayed them by going behind to collect huge sums of money for events at the government house without giving them their own right, whereas I have also not charged the Rivers State government my usual professional appearance fee on events, the present chief of staff to river state government Mr Tony Okocha and Senator Magnus Abe are my witness on this.   Meanwhile due to the multi-lingual nature of Rivers State as a result of different ethnic nationalities, I decided to record a song which I titled PORT HARCOURT BOY where I mentioned the names of various prominent men who have made their mark at one point or the other, even people from other states who lived and did their business in Port harcourt as a way of promoting and uniting the state.   Shortly afterwards the general public started saying that governor Amaechi has been the one behind my career success claiming that he bought me all manner of flashy cars and pays me huge amount of money regularly, meanwhile since I finished the project for the governor he virtually declined paying me the outstanding balance as agreed upon our transaction.

It is also a known fact that before amnesty was given DUNCAN MIGHTY was the first artiste in the entire Niger Delta to embrace the creeks all over the country, using my music to promote peace in the region, encouraging the youths to shun cultism, youth restiveness and other social vices.

The entire entertainment industry within the Niger Delta region actually believed that I was constantly favored by the governor hence they all came to me in 2011 pleading with me to become the chapter president of performing musicians association of Nigeria (PMAN) a move which I constantly rejected so that I can concentrate on my career. All this while God has been my source of inspiration and survival my pillar of strength and protection.   It was also rumored that I was appointed a member of Rivers State carnival committee, and due to their secret nature of meeting and deliberating on carnival issues, my fellow artistes constantly accused me of not caring them along, an accusation which I've always struggled to debunk till date.
Moreover, my passion for going all the way to contribute my quota to the development of the entertainment industry in the Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole was born out of genuine interest, love and previous roles as a professional audio engineer who has worked for many international brands at different capacities.
More also, I need to clear the air on this issue which made a lot of artiste who I was owing some outstanding balance to call me a traitor, saboteur, saying that I have betrayed them by refusing to pay them when in the actual sense I have not received further payment from the Governor, because I didn't want any further trouble arising from this issue, I had to pay them out of my pocket from my own funds.

Once more, I will like to state that this has nothing to do with party politics, I am seriously appealing to everyone who know Gov Amaechi to tell him to pay me my money in the name of GOD.

Boko Haram Men Attack Kalabalge Vigilantes,Kill 40 Villagers

Armed Boko Haram terrorists yesterday attacked Kalabalge, a community in Borno where vigilantes had recently repelled an attack by members of the extremist Islamist sect - and left a horrific scene, with at least 40 dead people and widespread destruction.

A security agent and a community source told SaharaReporters that more than 500 Boko Haram fighters arrived in the town in numerous pick-up vans and were able to overwhelm local hunters and vigilante members within the community. Continue... Yesterday’s attack originated in Gamboru Ngala, a border town between Nigeria and Cameroon, and lasted for several hours. Our security agent source disclosed that the religious militants also attacked Ankulkule, Chekobe, Izge and five other communities.

The source told SaharaReporters that some of the villages were completely burnt, adding that most of those who survived the horrendous attacks had fled to Cameroon to seek refuge. About a week ago, a group of local hunters and youth in Kalabalge had ambushed a contingent of Boko Haram terrorists who arrived in the village to wreak havoc.

The vigilante group killed scores of the militants, arrested a few, and send others scurrying into the bush to escape. A member of the village told SaharaReporters that, having resisted and repelled Boko Haram, members of the community expected the Islamist group to launch a vengeful attack. “Our vigilantes were ready, waiting for them, day and night,” the source said. “We knew that soldiers cannot protect us, so our fighters were ready. But they came in such large number that we could not withstand them today.”

Children Raped,Forced To Eat Faeces in Indian School

The owner and manager of a children's boarding school in Maharashtra have been arrested after five minors said they were raped, forced to watch pornographic films and act them out with one another, police and charity workers said. The children were made to eat faeces as a punishment if they did not comply. The 52-year-old owner of the Chandraprabha Charitable Trust and his 30-year-old female manager were arrested on Monday after a police raid on the school in Karjat city. Continue...

"We received a police complaint from the Childline charity saying that one child had gone home for the holidays and confessed to his mother that abuses were happening," Karjat's Police Inspector R.R. Patil told the Thomson Reuters Foundation late on Thursday.
"Five children in total have now come forward and we have booked the two suspects under various offences," he said, adding that these included unnatural sex (sodomy), wrongful confinement and sexual assault. The school accommodated 28 underprivileged children, aged between 4 and 14, for 10 months of the year, said Patil, but most were on holiday at home at the time of the raid. Police were trying to find out whether other children were abused and if there were any other suspects.

Anuradha Sahasrabudhe of Childline, a charity supported by the government, said the children had spoken about all kinds of sexual and physical abuse. "It's a horrific case. The children have been telling us about the sexual abuse going on there. There has been oral sex, there has been forced sex... These things have been photographed," Saharasabudhe told the NDTV news channel.

"Children have been punished by making them eat dog excreta and when they vomited, they were made to eat vomit," she added. Police say the residential school had been running since 2002, but was not registered and had therefore escaped government inspections by child welfare officials.

16 Year Old Murders Parents Because They Siezed His Iphone

16 year old Vincent Parker pleaded guilty yesterday to murdering his parents Carol and Wayne Parker last December. The boy says that there was no specific fight that prompted the brutal MURDER. The sadistic killer told authorities, 'I just remember getting mad,' Parker told the court. 'It's all from my dad. All this stuff like my dad taking away my iPod and stuff.'

The story gets worse. Vincent was an only child being raised by his hard working parents Carol, 57, and father Wayne, 55, in their Norfolk, Virginia home. They did everything right - they lived in a good neighborhood, and helped Vincent become an honor roll student. But he boy snapped one day . . .

and turned into a moster. On December 19, 2013 Vincent left school early while his dad was still at work. He showed up at the family home and surprised his mother - by dousing her in pepper spray. While the 57 year old woman was blinded and unable to defend herself, Vincent stabbed his mother in the eye, and then beat her with a crowbar and metal baseball bat 'until she stopped breathing'. A medical examiner noted 25 separate smashes and stabs on Mrs Parker's neck, face and head. The animal then waited patiently over his dead mother's body until his father came in the house. He surprised his dad and hit him in the back of the head with a crowbar, smashing his skull. He then stabbed his father multiple times. Luckily his father didn't die from the mortal wounds.

He managed to call 9-1-1 and tell them what happened. When the ambulance arrived Carol had already died. Wayne survived a short time but died in the hospital. Yesterday Vincent plead guilty to two counts of second degree murder. A psychological evaluation found him to be both 100% sane and intelligent. He was charged as an adult and will be sentenced in September.

Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg To Appear In Court in Iran Over Privacy Concerns

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has been ordered to appear in court in Iran after a judge in the south of the country declared that both WhatsApp and Instagram were violating users' privacy. It's highly unlikely (almost impossible) that Zuckerberg will choose to appear in court, not least because the US has no extradition laws with Iran.

This isn't the first time that the Iranian legal system has taken issue with Zuckerberg's collection of apps with another court reportedly ordering that Instagram be banned over 'privacy concerns'.

Then of course there's the small matter of Iranian censors banning WhatsApp on the grounds of Zuckerberg's Jewish ubringing. Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that Iran's head of the Committee on Internet Crimes, Abdolsamad Khorramabadi was quoted as saying: "The reason for this is the assumption of WhatsApp by the Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg, who is an American Zionist". If WhatsApp and Instagram are both successfully banned they'll join an elite group of banned websites and services including Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.

Conversly though Iran's new moderate government actually supports the idea of using social media, and has openly opposed censors who wish to block sites like Facebook and Twitter.

Google Has Seen The And It Has Ads Everywhere

Google is the largest single ad-seller in the world, so when it moves beyond PCs and phones, you can bet ads are at least part of the equation.

When the wearables market heated up earlier this year, Google was cagey. The company would not comment on any potential ads for the smartwatches its software powers or its own connected devices. People close to the company told Ad Age the products were far too young for its engineers even to consider the topic. Now, it's evident the search giant has looked at the future and it sees ads ... everywhere.

In a December letter to the SEC, released on Tuesday, Google said in a "few years" the search giant may be serving ads on "refrigerators, car dashboards, thermostats, glasses, and watches, to name just a few possibilities." The letter came in response to a plea from the SEC to break out revenue derived from mobile, which Google currently does not do. But Google defended the practice, arguing that the concept of "mobile" was rapidly to a sort of ambient advertising on a great many devices. "It is increasingly challenging to define what exactly a 'mobile' platform is from period to period," Google wrote in the letter, "and what it will be going forward." Along with other tech giants, Google is rapidly pursuing the lucrative potential of connected devices, called the Internet of Things.

It has signed deals with several automotive companies to put its Android operating system, which has around 80% market share, into consumer vehicles. In January, the company bought Nest, the makers of a smart-home thermostat, for $3.2 billion. And Google has been flexing its marketing muscle for its own devices, including Chromebook, Nexus phones and Google Glass, the futuristic headwear it is bringing to market. Last week, the company hired Ivy Ross, a veteran marketing executive, to lead Glass.

The SEC had asked Google to break down its ad revenue figures on mobile, as Facebook and Twitter do. Google last posted its average cost-per-click in the third quarter of 2011. In its latest earnings statement, from April, Google reported its ad prices had suffered from a shift to mobile search. Facebook Adds Audio Matching To Get You post More About TV

Facebook wants you to post about TV so much that it will now start writing the posts for you.

The social network today announced a new feature that uses a phone's microphone to identify a show or movie airing on one of 160 TV channels. Then, if users wish, it pre-populates a post with the name of the movie or TV show, identifying TV shows' specific season and episode so friends can avoid spoilers. The service can also identify songs and start a post with the title of the song plus a 30-second snippet.

The new feature looks like part of the company's ongoing effort to get a greater share of social-TV conversations and to show advertisers that there are second-screen alternatives to Twitter.

In one recent bid to shed light on the volume of TV-related conversations that play out among Facebook users, the company enlisted a U.K.-based company called SecondSync to analyze relevant chatter, and it planned to make those insights available to clients. Twitter subsequently bought SecondSync, making it the latest installment in a buying spree of social-TV analytics companies, following the acquisition of Bluefin Labs and Trendrr. Users who want to use Facebook's new audio-matching feature on their phones when it becomes available in the U.S. on Android and iOS devices in the coming weeks will have to activate it themselves, the company said. If left on, it will automatically attempt to find a match of a song, TV show or movie playing in the background as a user writes a status update. It can be turned off by tapping a button on the upper-right corner of a phone's screen.

It remains to be seen how many users will proactively add the feature to let Facebook listen in. The social network's blog post is careful to emphasize that the feature is "optional" and stores no sound from users' lives. Also still to be revealed is how accurate it will be. Twitter doesn't currently have an audio-matching feature.

Facebook built its audio-matching software in-house, according to a spokeswoman. Meanwhile, the field of competitors for second-screen ad dollars is getting more crowded.

Tumblr is beginning to make its case more loudly and released a study last month that claimed it hosted more TV-related chatter than Twitter in one 11-day window.
