Greatest Boxer,Muhammad Ali dies aged 74


A day after he was put on life support, legendary boxer ,Muhammad Ali, has died. The 74 old was surrounded by his family .

He was suffering from a respiratory illness, a condition that was complicated by Parkinson's disease.
The funeral will take place in Ali's hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, his family said in a statement.

A 20-stone ISIS executioner dubbed The Bulldozer being captured by the Syrian army.

The obese extremist, a member of the terror group's so-called Chopping Committee, is seen lying half-naked in the back of a truck with his hands tied behind his back.

Crowds gathered round to take pictures of the hulking jihadi, who appeared to be grimacing, before he is driven off by Syrian Armed Forces in the footage posted online by Syrian sources.
The militant has gained a bloody reputation as one of ISIS's most feared butchers after beheading dozens of prisoners and amputating young children.

He has infamously been pictured in black robes and a mask while wielding a three-foot sword to behead his victims.

Teacher gets 'pregnant by her 13-year-old' student(Photo)



A female teacher accused of having sex with a 13-year-old pupil from her class has handed herself in to authorites.
Alexandria Vera, 24, allegedly admitted to having the relationship with her pupil since September last year and is understood to be pregnant with his child.
A warrant was issued for her arrest, but officers were unable to track down the middle school English teacher.
Now according to Eyewitness News , Vera has presented herself to officers at Montgomery County Jail in Conroe, Texas.She is being charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child. 


The affair is alleged to have started when the boy, who cannot be named, failed to show up to her English class.Vera then used Instagram to message the young pupil.
She gave the boy her number and the relationship developed to the point they were having sex on an almost daily basis, according to court documents filed in Houston, Texas.

The pair apparently made no effort to hide the affair and had the full support of the pupil’s family who are said to be “excited about the baby”.
She drove to the student’s house and kissed him in the car then visited the next day when his parents were away and the pair had sex, officers say.

Welder sentenced to death by hanging for armed robbery in Delta




Jethro Ibileke/Asaba: A 38-year old welder, Onyeka Ossai, has been sentenced to death by hanging for armed robbery and attempted murder, by a Delta State High Court, sitting in Obiaruku.The accused was found guilty by Justice Nduka Obi on a four-count charge of conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, armed robbery and unlawful possession of firearms, levelled against him.

He was sentenced to death by hanging on the count of armed robbery, 14 years in jail on the count of conspiracy to commit murder, 7 years imprisonment for attempted murder and 10 years in jail for illegal possession of firearms,PM News reports.


During the trial, the prosecution told the court that Onyeka Ossai and others still at large, at Ulogwe Isumpe road Obiaruku, within the Obiaruku Judicial Division, conspired to murder one Chukwunalu Animam, on or about the 1 May, 2011.

The court also heard that the convict and members of his gang attacked Chukwunalu with machetes and inflicted serious injuries on his head and arm, and robbed him of his motorcycle and money.
The accused, it was learnt, was found in possession of a pump action gun at the time of arrest.
The accused who admitted in his voluntary statement to the Police to have committed the offence, however denied same during trial.
He claimed that the victim was attacked because they suspected him of being a police informant.

Lai Muhammed Blames Boko Haram for tomato scarcity.




Minister of InformationBoko Haram, are responsible for the ongoing scarcity of tomato in the country.
Speaking on Channels Television, the Minister said farmers have been forced to quit the North East due to the level of insecurity in the region.
He said
“People talk about the price of tomato but they forget one thing; they forget that the price of tomato today is a direct result of the fact that we have lost two years harvest to Boko Haram insurgency.Most of the people you see riding Okada (motorcycles) in Lagos are people who would have been in the farm to produce consumable items.”
Attributing the scarcity of tomatoes to insurgency, he continued

Woman arressted with stolen one-year-old



A woman, Zainab Salisu, who allegedly disguised as a customer to abduct a one-year-old girl, Fehintola Lawal, in the Abule Egba area of Lagos State has been arrested by the police.
Salisu was arrested on Wednesday by policemen attached to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba, in the Idimu area of the state.

It was learnt that Fehintola and another toddler were found at the hideout, rescued from the suspect before she was whisked away by the police.

PUNCH Metro had reported exclusively on Thursday, May 19, that Salisu, who had earlier identified herself as Mama Oyin, disguised as a customer and allegedly abducted Fehintola in the Abule Egba area on Monday, May 16.
The suspect, on the preceding Saturday, had met the victim’s mother and grandmother, saying she wanted to buy some items from the women who were retailers in a shop in the Abule Egba area.
The items were said to be unavailable.

Girl developed burns after taking popular antibiotic in Nigeria (Graphic)


Unbelievable...This girl's skin got burnt after she took the antibiotic which is usually used to treat bacterial infections.She has been admitted in a hospital in Nassarawa state .
Some twitter users in the know claim it is Stevens- Johnson Syndrome ,a severe reaction to a medicine you've taken. It causes your skin to burn up.According to Encyclopedia ,"it is a life-threatening skin condition, in which cell death causes the epidermis to separate from the dermis.Treatment is similar to that for patients with thermal burns, and continued care can only be supportive."
So it may not be caused by the antibiotic in particular but the disease which causes severe reactions to some drugs.


Buhari inherited burden from Jonathan-Prof Wole Soyinka


Prof Wole Soyinka has said it would take time for President Muhammadu Buhari to clear the rot he inherited from his predecessor, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, whose administration, he believed, left a “heavy baggage” and “burden” that may take a while to tackle.
 
According to The Nation,he spoke in Johannesburg, South Africa at a public lecture on the theme: Politics, Culture and the New Africa. He said:

“This (Buhari) administration has inherited a heavy baggage. While I am critical in some aspects of the priority, I think that to clear up the mess left by previous administrations is going to take quite a while, especially in the economy sector. So, I don’t use words like optimism or pessimism; I’m just pragmatic. I look at what is on the ground and, of course, wherever I can intervene, I do both privately and publicly.”


Student dies after jilted boyfriend sets her on fire(photo)


A university student has died after being burned to death by her jilted lover, according to Italian authorities.

Sara Di Pietrantonio, 22, was attacked on Sunday by 27-year-old ex boyfriend Vincenzo Paduano, local reporters were told.
Her alleged attacker reportedly first set fire to her vehicle, before she managed to escape and started to run for her life.
Paduano then chased her down the street and set her alight when he caught her, authorities said.Police claim her attacker doused her in alcohol before taking a cigarette lighter to her face.

Lead police official in the investigation Luigi Silipo, said:
 "I can say that in 25 years in this work I have never seen something to atrocious."
Paduano was held on suspicion of premeditated murder, according to prosecutor Maria Monteleone.

Authorities claimed the suspect confessed to the crime after eight hours of questioning.
Mr Silipo added:
"He couldn't accept the fact he was left by her when she ended the relationship."

Police said security guard Paduano followed his victim as she drove her car through Rome.He then forced her to pull over before carrying out the attack.CCTV in the area captured imaged of cars passing by as the victim screamed for help.

This is the sad story of a Nigerian woman whose kidney was illegally harvested in Italy as published by Daily Sun
Ms Julie Osamese felt a little feverish when she walked into the Ospedale Maria Vittoria Cibrario Hospital in Turin, Italy sometime in November 2008. Her only complaint was a slight increase in body temperature, and that she explained to the doctor who attended to her. Tests were conducted, following which she was given medication to use and instructed to return for evaluation after a week.

But her second visit to the hospital could be described as the greatest mistake of her life. For this Nigerian lady, it marked the beginning of years of woe.

 It was the beginning of years of trauma during which she was moved to six other hospitals. She eventually ended up in a mental home, despite being mentally stable. Some of the hospitals Osamese was taken to include Amedeo Di Savoia Svizzerra and Ospedale San Giovanni Bossco.

Jonathan Shocked me in 2015-Buhari


President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday told State House correspondents in Abuja that he was shocked when the former President, Goodluck Jonathan, called him before the 2015 Presidential election was concluded to concede defeat.

At a launch with the reporters, president Buhari said
“When he made that famous call at 4:45 pm and said ‘Good evening Mr. President, I have called to congratulate you and I concede defeat’, I was silent for quite a while because I was surprised and he said ‘did you hear me?’,“For someone who was a Deputy Governor, a Governor, a Vice President and a President for six years to concede that easily showed his great sense of patriotism”.For him to still go ahead and concede was definitely not an easy decision.””President Buhari said.
