Plane which dissapeared with football star in chile found after 54 years

It was a national tragedy that stunned the world - and for more than 50 years the exact whereabouts of a plane that crashed in Chile carrying a group of football stars remained a mystery.

According to Mailonline, Now climbers in the Andes mountain range say they have found the wreckage of the LAN Chile Douglas DC-3 that went down April 3, 1961 with 24 people onboard.
The doomed aircraft's twisted remains were discovered high up in Maule, about 190 miles south of capital city Santiago by a group of mountaineers.
Human bones were also found scattered in the area amid parts of the broken plane. Amazingly, pictures taken at the supposed crash site show pieces of the aircraft extraordinarily-well preserved after 54 years in the mountains. The expedition's leader, Leonardo Albornoz, said:
The plane is more than 3,200 meters up the mountain. Quite a bit of the fuselage is still there, a lot of things scattered over the area including human bones.

'So this story is getting a rewrite since this is not where original accounts said.' The disappearance of the Douglas DC-3 carrying members of the top-division Chilean team Green Cross was one of the great unsolved mysteries in the South American country.

The club had played an away match in Osorno in the Copa de Chile and was returning to Santiago after a 1-1 draw.
The team and staff were spread over two flights and while one of the planes reached the Chilean capital and the other apparently vanished After the crash, It was reported that most of the first team players had elected to fly on the fateful plane because it was more direct, and the alternative flight was scheduled to make several stops on the way back to Santiago.

Despite losing virtually the entire first team in the disaster the club fulfilled the second leg of the cup tie, which they lost 0-1 and were eliminated from the cup.

A South Korean woman was left in severe pain after her robot vacuum cleaner sucked up her hair.The 52 year old woman who bought the robot to help her with house chores,was sleeping on the floor when the vacuum cleaner mistook her hair for dirt .

According to the UK Guardian, She was awoken by the pain and  yelled for help and  local fire fighters came and helped remove her hair from the machine .

A 28-year-old guard, Paul Onazi, has been arrested for allegedly stealing a Toyota Camry car and jewellery belonging to his bosses ─ Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Ekpesi ─ who live in Gowon Estate in the Egbeda area of Lagos.

Punch Metro gathered that Onazi, who occupied a mini flat on the couple’s premises, and his friend, who is still at large, committed the act around 4.30pm on Sunday, January 25, 2015 when his bosses had gone to church.
It was said the suspects broke into the couple’s apartment and made off with foreign currencies, laptops and phones, among other valuables – all of which were valued at N9m.    

Our correspondent gathered that the guard, a 200 level student, who hails from Benue State, was enrolled in the University of Lagos by Epkesi to study philosophy. He reportedly earned N30,000 per month, apart from being given three square meals a day.

Our correspondent learnt further that the couple was astonished that Onazi, who had been living with them for years, could commit such criminal act.    The crime was said to have been reported to policemen attached to the Gowon Estate Police station, leading to Onazi’s arrest.    

 The police said the car and other stolen items had been recovered while efforts were being made to track down the fleeing accomplice.    It was, however, learnt that the money had yet to be recovered.

Boko Haram vows to defeat multinational force.

Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, vowed in a new video released on Monday that they  would defeat a regional force fighting the extremists in Nigeria's far northeast, Niger and Cameroun.He said “Your alliance will not achieve anything. Amass all your weapons and face us.
We welcome you,”We never rose up to fight Africa.
We rose up to fight the world.We are going to fight the world on the principle that whoever doesn't obey Allah and the Prophet to either obey or die or become a slave.

" You send 7,000 troops? Why don't you send 70 million? This is small. Only 7,000? By Allah, it is small. We can seize them one-by-one. We can seize them one-by-one" The third video featured  shot in Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State during their brief takeover  on December 1, 2014.

In the video, hundreds of insurgents in a convoy emerged in front of the Yobe State Government House along Maiduguri Road where an exchange of gunshots between them and soldiers ensued before the insurgents gained access into the premises.
In a bush an unidentified spokesperson showcased over 50 vehicles and ammunition they got from Damaturu.

“We had a field day in Damaturu, ate and dined, took what we wanted and thereafter drove out of the town at our own volition, with all the vehicles, ammunition and other things we wanted to take along,” he said He also directly threatened Chad’s President Idriss Deby.

Nigeria will Eliminate Boko Haram in 6 weeks...

Nigeria has vowed to crush Boko haram just in time for the elections .Speaking to AFP on Monday the National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki assured that “all known Boko Haram camps will be taken out” by the time of the rescheduled vote which is March 28 for presidential poll.
“They won’t be there.

They will be dismantled,” he told AFP when asked what gains could be made against the Islamists before the new polling date.

When reminded that the Federal Government has previously set deadlines to defeat the insurgents that have come and gone, Dasuki said that even if the goal was not achieved “the situation then would surely be conducive enough for elections”, with no need for a further postponement to voting.

Jordan Pilot sedated before being burned to death

I don't know if to term this 'good news' but new reports suggest  Jordanian air force pilot filmed being burned to death by Islamic State extremists was heavily sedated and unaware of what was about to happen.

According to Dailymail, a  report in Saudi Arabia's burnews.com claims ISIS militants admitted giving Moaz al-Kasasbeh drugs so that he did not scream as flames consumed his body during his grotesque execution.

Jordan has struck back hard following the circulation of the video last week, hitting the militant group's territory with 56 air strikes in three days and executing two ISIS-linked prisoners.
Burnews.com reports that Kasasbeh's apparent resignation to his fate, as well as his apparently heroic stoicism as his petrol-soaked jumpsuit burst into flames, was due to heavy sedation.

The report also cites unspecified 'observers' it says conducted a detailed study of the video, who concluded that that Kasasbeh's 'sensory centres' burned quickly, leaving him unable to feel the pain of the inferno.

'It is important to note that [Kasasbeh] seemed unconscious and unaware of what awaits him and not, as some have said, that he is not afraid,' the site quotes these observers as saying.

Popular Food Blogger commits suicide

A blogger plunged to his death moments after posting online that he had grown 'tired of life', Wilkes McDermid fell from the roof terrace of restaurant Coq D'Argent, in central London, a notorious suicide spot, on Sunday evening.

According to UK Mirror, the 39-year-old was a well-known food critic,and moments before the incident posted on Twitter a link to his final blog post.It read: 
“This is a message to thank you for being part of my last adventure in London."Alas, it is time to say goodbye. The reasons ‘why’ will be upsetting for some and very hard to accept for others.

"Quoting writer Samuel Johnson, he added: "When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.

"Johnson was right, I am not tired of London and never have been… however I am tired of life.

" He went on to describe his final meal, which he had at Hawksmoor Spitalfields, eating a ribeye steak with a Donnington Caesar salad. : "That's all folks, in the words of Dr Seuss, 'Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.'" Boko Haram abducted 20 passengers in Cameroon

20 passengers who were returning from a market were reportedly abducted by Boko Haram members yesterday Feb. 8th in Adangadanga, Mayo- Moskota division of the far North region of Cameroon.
The passengers were taken to an undisclosed location.

Cameroonian investigative journalist, Etahoben Bissong also said that one of the 35 Boko Haram members captured by the Cameroonian army after the last week's attack on Fotokol is a 16yr old boy who said he specializes in slitting peoples throat.

Boko Haram releases new videos, amputates thief , stones adulterer to death

The Boko Haram sect today released three new videos on Youtube (that have since been taken down) showing how a man accused of committing adultery was stoned to death.

The sect members also amputated a man's hand for stealing. In one of the videos which was released in three parts, a man buried in the ground with only his head visible, is seen being stoned to death by a crowd.
They accused him of adultery. Another part of the video showed a man's hand being amputated for 'stealing'

. Young men were also shown being flogged for committing fornication. In one of the videos, the sect leader, Abubakar Shekau denied claims by Nigerian military that they repelled the December 1st attack on Damaturu in Yobe state carried out by the terrorist group.

Election postponement: ASUU Blast Jonathan

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has cautioned President Jonathan not to use the current security situation in the country as a pretext to frustrate the genuine efforts of Nigerians seeking change.The Ibadan Zonal Coordinator of ASUU and Chairman of University of Ibadan chapter, Prof. Segun Ajiboye, made this warning known to The Nation yesterday February 8, while reacting to news on the postponement of the general election.He said “The decision is a serious setback for Nigerian democracy. But we should remain steadfast.

This is time-buying game. It will not work. Let us organise and not agonise.”In the same vein, ASUU president, Dr. Nasir Fagge, in a phone interview with the Nation, urged Nigerians to ensure they use the polls to usher in new leaders that are interested in the people and the nation’s development.Dr. Fagge noted that the challenge before Nigerians is how to ensure the emergence of a leadership with focus on the people and the nation’s institutions.

The 1999 Constitution, according to him, is not the solution to Nigeria’s problems.He added that a new government should give the country a people-friendly constitution, which will not encourage people to steal, but guarantee equitable distribution of wealth and income.The Announcement was made at a press conference in Abuja on February 7, Saturday.

The chairman of the Commission, Attahiru Jega, said the presidential and national assembly elections will now hold on March 28 while the governorship and state assemblies election will take place on April 11

Bruce Jenner involved in Car Crash which killed One person Today(photos)

Bruce Jenner was involved in a multi-vehicle pileup that killed one person today.The crash occurred  in the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California, several miles away from his home.

The 65-year-old who wasn't hurt was seen inside an ambulance at the scene of the crash and given medical attention as a precaution, a source told E! News. At least three vehicles were involved in the crash and sustained damage, including Jenner's.

According to TMZ,Eyewitnesses say Bruce rear ended the white car and that car went into oncoming traffic and was struck by the Hummer.  You can see the impact in the pics above.  

The woman driving the white car died. Jenner family sources tell TMZ Bruce was being chased by as many as 5 paparazzi at the time of the crash.  Bruce told cops he wasn't drinking and passed a field sobriety test.

Miscreants exchanged blows over sharing formula for cows killed by bus(photos)

On Thursday in Akure, Ondo State capital ,miscreants exchanged blows over the sharing formular to be adopted for the 11 cows crushed to death by a luxurious bus.

The accident, according to Sunday Vanguard investigation, occurred around 4am along the Akure-Owo expressway in Akure. No death was recorded or any passenger wounded in the bus. But the sleep of many of them was disrupted following the accident.

Immediately the news of the accident filtered to the miscreants they mobilised themselves in their hundreds and the invaded the scene as early as 5am. Armed with knives and cutlasses, the miscreants removed the dead cows before day break. Argument about where it would be safe for them to carry the cows to for sharing reportedly caused confusion..

It was later agreed that it should be 12 to a cow and within few minutes they have divided themselves into groups and each group organised a vehicle to convey their own ‘loot’.

Sunday Vanguard gathered that fight broke out among the miscreants over how many people will share the cows and who should take which part of the animals. Eyewitness account said that the luxurious bus, marked Anambra KPP 158XA, was coming from Abuja and heading for Lagos when the accident occurred at the Sebi Filling Station in Akure along the expressway.

Immediately the accident occurred, the herdsmen in charge of the cows reportedly fled into the bush for fear that they may be lynched. It was gathered that two herdsmen were with the over 25 cows when the crash occurred.The younger herdsmen, it was learnt, had allowed the cows to cross the road without checking if it was cleared to do so.
Also, the driver and passengers in the luxurious bus fled the scene thinking that the Fulani herdmen may mobilise to vent their anger on them. It was learnt that the driver and the passengers had to hide inside the bush till day break.

Speaking with Sunday Vanguard, one of the passenger of the bus, Rosemary Nwachukwu, said the accident occurred at about 4am on Thursday. She said many of the passengers were sleeping when the incident occurred.

“ When we suddenly saw cows on the expressway, many of us that were awake thought it was one of the antics of armed robbers.

“ We later learnt that it was not armed robbery attack but carelessness  on the party of the herdsmen who crossed the cows without making sure that the expressway was free of vehicles”.

Sunday Vanguard gathered that the driver of the bus on sighting the cows crossing the road thought it was an armed robbery attack. He was said to have maneuvered the bus but the cows were too many on the expressway hence the number of the animals that were killed instantly.

The sound of the crash reportedly attracted the  people living along the expressway to the scene. Many of the cows were reportedly dragged off the expressway by travellers plying the road.

A police officer at the scene of the accident said it was discovered that the herdsmen caused the accident by making the cows to cross the expressway without checking if it was free or not. Meanwhile, the police image maker in Ondo State, Wole Ogodo, said he was not aware of the crash.
