The Spanish football reached it's highest peak of performance between 2008 and 2014.Spain conquered all the big teams during the 2008 edition of European cup to win the trophy,Two years later they won the world cup in South Africa after losing their first match with Switzerland and wining Holland in the finals.This great team still defended the 2012 edition of the European cup after demolishing Italy 4-0 in the finals.Spain arrived Brazil for the 2014 world after preparation like every other team,unlike other teams they are the defending champion,which means that much is expected from them by their country and the entire world.But a 5-1 loss to Holland and 2-0 loss to Chile ended their dream of defending the coveted trophy which they won in South Africa 4 years ago.I think Spain need to recruit some younger players and feed them into the team.They refused to read meaning into their 3-0 loss to Brazil in the finals of confederation cup last year.
