George Kay, a terminally ill man has married Ann Millin his girlfriend from his hospital bed after 59 years together.
They explained they never got round to getting married, despite being a couple since 1957.
Doctors said the 79-year-old George who is suffering from heart failure may be nearing the end of his life.
Prompted by the illness and the findings of the doctors, the couple from Offerton in Stockport got married on ward A10 in Stepping Hill Hospital, where George has spent the last three weeks.
Their emotional wedding was made even more special as their niece and nephew Denise and Alan, who they raised from a young age, were by their side as reported by Metro UK.
