The National Open University association o Nigeria has expressed dissatisfaction over non-participation of its members in the national youth service ( NYSC) scheme. The national president of the association,
Mr Nelson Nwaonicha expressed the dissatisfaction in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria( NAN) on sunday in Asaba.
Nwaonicha said that the policy of non-inclusive of graduates of the university in the scheme was discriminatory.
He said, there is great pride in serving ones country,as the NYSC gave every Nigerian graduate sense of belonging, personal worth and recognition by ones own nation.
He said, it will amount to abandonment and violation of federal character and integration, if a set of Nigerian graduate is not included in the scheme.
He appealed to the National Assembly to review the Act establishing NOUN with the view to including the graduates in the allowed age bracket to take part in the programme.
