Dr Ikpeazu Begs to withdraw

Following the recent negative reception experienced during the campaign tour of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and the Onye Dorty incident in Aba where residents of Aba stoned the PDP gubernatorial aspirant with pure water, pressure has increased on Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu to withdraw from the race.
News filtered in that Dr. Ikpeazu has threw in the towel and has appealed to Gov. Orji and the first family to leave him out of the contest. This crucial meeting held less than 48 hours ago has put the PDP Abia state in a confused state. The newly constituted campaign teams of the PDP and some Eze Ndi Ngwa have embarked on persuading Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu to rescind his decision as it’s too late for PDP to start shopping for another guber aspirant in the state.
An insider informed ABIA 24/7 NEWS that one of the main factor that led to Ikpeazu throwing in the towel is the negative impression Abians have towards Gov. Orji which has rubbed on him and greatly damaged his political future. The insider said that after calculative analysis, Dr. Ikpeazu realized that winning the election is almost impossible going by the atrocities Gov. Orji has created on ground. To crown the atrocities is how the governor allowed civil servants to celebrate Christmas in hunger which have automatically made the civil servant to turn their back against the PDP led government and their gubernatorial aspirant. Just yesterday, NUT Abia State embarked on an indefinite strike to press home the demand for the payment of their unpaid three months salary and other allowances which the government withholds from them.
It is believed that Ikpeazu does not want to be used as a scape goat who will carry the blame of losing an election, meanwhile bulk of the blame is on the first family and the impunitive way they have ran Abia State like their limited liability company.
