Bomb Threat Reported Aboard American Airlines Flight.

Emergency responders rushed to John F. Kennedy International Airport Sunday after receiving reports of a bomb threat on an American Airlines plane flying in from Barcelona, authorities said.

“They told us to grab our luggage and get off,” said Flight 67 passenger Jacob Rosenberg, 37, as he waited to be shuttled to a gate by a Port Authority van. The FDNY cleared the area after thoroughly checking the Boeing 767. The plane carrying 200 passengers and a crew of nine landed at JFK at 12:01 p.m. and was met by authorities due to a “security concern,” a spokeswoman for American Airlines said. PAPD spokesman Joe Pentangelo said the “Port Authority Police received a phone call” about the threat, which they then characterized as a bomb threat. He said he didn’t have any further details on the call or the caller. 

Security officials spent two hours using dogs to search each piece of luggage taken from the plane before moving the passengers to the gate.
